This looks like heaven, pigeons eating from your hand! Some people really don't understand what positive energy they bring to the world. Stay safe, pigeons!
I don't understand why people are interested in racing pigeons. Why have to have them do anything for you? For me, simply being in their presence and watching their joy in eating or foraging is the keenest pleasure. I would die if there were no pigeons!!
K Lindstrom Racing pigeons, homing pigeon, rock dove pigeon, feral pigeon........same difference. You can breed the best racing pigeons from your local park.
@@henrikhansen1023 Yeah, you could even breed them from fruit doves. The basics are the same. But your local racing Federation won't accept it, but that's another story.
It is nice to see someone cares about them. My suggestion is maybe you should try give more peanuts at once so they are not panicking, running and flying up, and wasting more energy than they eat. If you put a big pile of hulled sunflower seed down they would share that very peacefully and you could still attract the brave ones to your hand with the peanuts. The sudden movements and food and hands going overhead or directly at them spook them and make it stressful, they have blindspots and don't see it coming. They are like overexcited dogs, worried about missing out.
He seems to be getting comfortable with me, despite getting jumped on by kitty. I have tamed one of his kind many years before I did u tube so it is possible.
Usually city pigeons are already this way, because they are naturally domesticated to humans, if you go into the city and find some pigeons, get food on your hands and hold it out to them, they'll usually fly up like this! I've done it many times, gotten some weird looks but I really don't care, they're such sweet little babies :))
vfxardist I've definitely never had a problem approaching town pigeons in the past and getting them to fly up onto my hands for food. I handfed the pigeons one day in a park in Bergen in Norway, I'm from Scotland, so definitely a stranger to them 😂
@@chloejohnston5359I'm from London and there's very few places I could get pigeons I've never seen before on my hand (outside a park) perhaps they are tamer in Scotland because it is colder. it may depend on their calculations of risk, for example how hungry they are, human females may have been historically kinder to them or vice versa, older people may get more trust than children, people with bags may be seen as kinder as bird feeders usually use bags etc Bergen probably gets a lot of elderly, rich cruise passengers who are there to enjoy themselves and have free sandwiches to share and maybe want the Instagram pigeon, in some non-tourist places in London you put peanuts down and the pigeons think they are having something thrown at them. A lot of well-meaning people make the mistake of throwing the food 'aggressively' directly at the bird, instead of a half metre or so in front of it so that it can fly to the food. Then you can reduce the distance until it is on your hand.
Feral pigeons. Domesticated by humans centuries ago. They were bred to be food for urban dwellers, maybe by the Romans, that is why they are so friendly. All major European cities have them. Imagine a feral cat, now instead of a cat imagine a pigeon.
Gorgeous pigeons and wood pigeon. Intelligent, beautiful creatures, saved lives in war. Respect for pigeons!
Cheers to that!

My thoughts exactly! It's nice to know there are still some people that appreciate pigeons. :)
@@christiangrey3645 Thank you! Have a nice week! Cheers!
That common wood pigeon was very shy, they normally are. And squirrel is super-cute!
Wood pigeons normally are shy? The ones around my area all aren’t shy at all
I love wood pigeons, every morning I wake up to its soft cooing :)
This is like, the BEST pigeon video on UA-cam! 🕊️❤🕊️❤🕊️❤️
Those sneaky belly rubs are so adorable
Pigeons are marvellous birds. I have been breeding them since when I was a boy

You know why? Pigeon racing is a good source of income. It's practically gambling.

Gambling is not what I consider a good source of income.

An aristocratic wood pigeon mixing with the hoi-polloi ....it must be hungry.... if you could get it on your hand that would be magic
Wood pigeons don't get near as tame. The cliff pigeons are so much nicer. They are soft and cute and very intelligent.
Peanut time with the lads

It’s like the walking dead only pigeons instead of zombies

Wood pigeons are very shy
How long does a box of peanuts last you?
It would be so cool if he joined the flock! But it's impossible, he's different species ;)

Be nice and gentle with them. And give them food.

Beautiful pigeons mate but make sure you have the mask cover on..............4.35 is the beautiful of all
Rock pigeons not wood pigeons get it right
Only one wood pigeon, the rest are feral pigeons (Columba livia domestica).
Is it MA'AM?
Those are just horrible feral pigeons, not wood pigeons.
The only one horrible is you, Bro.
There is a wood pigeon in the background.
