    I did tea stained paper for a journal I'm making, I dried it in the oven for 2 to 5 minutes. And if it wasn't dark enough I repeated the staining and drying process, tell I had the desired color.

  • @nicolaiitchenko7610
    @nicolaiitchenko7610 7 років тому +4

    Have you tried tea? I find that the color/s available with various types pf tea give a very interesting aging effect on anything that I put in it or even that I paint with tea...

    • @MonsterTutorials
      @MonsterTutorials  7 років тому +3

      Cool, I 'll have to try that. I have a ton of old tea in my cupboard.

    Will the eyes last in water. Love your videos. So inspired!!! Thank you

    • @MonsterTutorials
      @MonsterTutorials  5 років тому

      The glue and paper will start to dissolve in water. I normally do dry specimens. You'd have to make acrylic eyes, or coat them somehow to be water resistant. Also, since they are ping pong balls, they float to the top, so you may have to weigh them down with water.

    Again great tutorial. I have one question. If I use this technique for painting latex, and not only for lid, but at all, doesnt color peel off from that in time? I know, that latex is bad for gluing and nothing stick on it so much. In some tutorials you use nail polish. Will it help, or its problem still? Thank you and looking for another tutorials :)

    • @MonsterTutorials
      @MonsterTutorials  7 років тому

      Hi there, I haven't had any issues (yet) with the paint peeling, but this prop is only a year old.

    That was funny when you dropped it 😜 looks like you get to play when the wifes away. I would be mad too if you use my nice spoons. Maybe use plastic ones? That you can reuse? Give it a quick rinse.

    Can u put some kind of liquid in it. To make it look like it’s a real experiment jar?

    • @mikejanson1939
      @mikejanson1939 7 років тому +1

      Btw I subscribed

    • @MonsterTutorials
      @MonsterTutorials  7 років тому +2

      Yes and no. Some of the glue is not waterproof so it would dissolve. You'd have to find water proof paints and glue. And also the eyeball would float. So you'd have to anchor them so they don't float to the top.
