@@Alexandria-Ryan I'm sure it's a little late Alexandria but although the jeans fit you to Perfection and the deep blue top was very lovely when you're looking at the cost of a wedding you have to ask yourself is there anything that special in that outfit. You have a lovely figure and likely many pairs of jeans that are as flattering if not more. I know what it's like to receive all of those bills after a wedding and $150 can go a long way. As one of your older viewers I'll be the voice of reason. LOL
Hi! Don't know if someone else has said it already, but the reason the shorts are so expensive is because Girlfriend Collective's stuff is made of recycled plastic! plus they hold up really well over time. I've got some black leggings from them (with pockets!) that still look new after like 3 years
Yes me too! They did a promo about 7 years ago where you just paid for shipping and the leggings I got then still look great, their stuff is such good quality.
They are also a sustainable and ethical company!
Yes!! I have a pair of their black leggings that I wear to aerial hoop practice- four years and they still look gorgeous, even after being smooshed and scraped against hoop after hoop!
That green is actually the perfect spring green. When toned down with a neutral, looks more fresh and springy than pea soup. The perfect feeling jeans are more than worth $60. That's like finding a Golden egg. $164 is not bad for all at all.
And she can RIT dye them if it’s too unbearable

What do you do for a living? I am in my late 30s, my husband brings in around $75k per year and there is no world where I can justify paying more than $40 for a pair of jeans. In fact, there is no scenario where I would pay more than $40 for any item of clothing (shoes not included).
@@brandimunguia That's your choice. $40 is Walmart price for jeans, and most middle class people choose to buy better quality jeans, but we can all choose where we want to spend our money. As for income, $75k is high is some regions of the US, but poverty is others. We would be homeless in our area if our income was $75k, so it greatly varies by regional factors. Jeans were $40-$50 in the late 90s.
@@betsybabf748 what jeans are you buying at Walmart for $40? Most pairs are $24 and under 😂 And just for comparison I make around $125,000/year (that's upper middle class in my state) and I'm not paying $60 for one pair of jeans either.

You should totally keep at least 1 item so you don’t lose your styling fee and so that you don’t feel like you’ve overextended your wallet by purchasing it all. I vote for the dark blue top and the jeans. When does anyone ever say that jeans fit perfectly!?! It’s a sign. And that top was versatile and flattering and so complementary.
This. The green shorts, if it were me, would be a "hell no!" because they're not flattering (they must run small because you're not big) and look uncomfortable, and the color, bleh. Unless you've got an occasion for the green dress, having recently bought a dress that you can use, can go, too, unless your heart flutters when you think of it. The heart flutter, and "I'd regret it if I sent this back" are the best signs to look for, along with consideration for your budget.

girlfriend collective (the shorts brand) is a sustainable/size inclusive brand, so that's probably why they're so expensive!

I mostly wear leggings and I used to always buy them at TJ Maxx, but now I pretty much only buy from Girlfriend Collective. Cheap leggings wear out quickly, but I have pairs of GF leggings that are 3 years old. They also used recycled materials (water bottles and fishing nets) to make their clothes. All this is to say, the shorts are high quality for the price. If you don't think you'll wear them, don't keep them (pass them on to someone else?), but I do think they're easily worth the price.

My (distantly-dutch heritaged) father has spoken admiringly of my 'broad shoulders' my entire life. Not my favourite feature, but just gotta embrace it. The village needs us. Also that dark blue top looks INCREDIBLE on you. You've never looked better.
The blue off shoulder/puff sleeve top with the jeans looked AMAZING on you! I love girlfriend collective, I buy their stuff half off during their post-christmas sale. They're a sustainable brand + quite size inclusive + pay their workers well, so that explains their high prices. Their compressive bottoms can be super tight, so I get my regular size, but I find it's better to size down in their non-compressive items for body support. I think you should get the shirt and jeans!

The final total price is ALOT in my mind but it’s almost like a unicorn to find a subscription style box that you like almost all items so maybe just go for it! The green shorts can be cleaning, lounge and at home work out. Also uses under dresses for thigh protection
Also if she doesn't get the tank top that's she didn't love then it'd bring her total down to like $140
I use my bike shorts to combat chub rub under skirts and dresses but of course mine didn't cost quite that much. I'm like Alexandria, I'm a Marshalls/TJ Maxx shopper so these prices are out of my comfort zone but the clothes are intriguing and might be better quality? I'm not sure. She was fun to watch anyway

Love the blue top on you!! Girl, I feel you on the linebacker shoulders. Honestly if you think about it, having strong shoulders just means you're not easily overwhelmed by clothing styles and can wear almost anything. Your waist will always appear smaller and your legs appear longer.
So true. My daughter has larger shoulders and clothing looks so much better on her.
We're so used to fast fashion prices (like tjmaxx) for clothes that are unethically made (poor working conditions/low pay/child labor) that ethical and sustainable brands who pay their workers make clothes that seem so expensive even though its still nothing compared to the labor that goes into them. Not everyone can afford to shop sustainable but those who can really should. Not to mention the clothes usually last longer
This is true. There are big reasons why some brands are not cheap and rarely on sale
Yet I also find those high end brands in Tj, Maxx and marshals.
TJ Maxx is a secondary retailer of those supposedly "ethical and sustainable brands" that didn't sell when they were priced higher at their initial retailer. Ethics shouldn't be passed on to the consumer for profit.
Yeah, I really wish UA-camrs would stop promoting the idea that clothing shouldn't cost more than 20 bucks.

I am LOVING your hair! It looks so freaking gorgeous and healthy! Even the little fringe type pieces I feel look nice. If you really want to commit you can get a stylist to frame them a little more and then you can trim them for the upkeep but it looks so nice!

The clothes looked fantastic on you. As someone with a similar leg build, I get the concerns with the bike shorts (unfortunately no amount of exercise will change that upper thigh shape and I have learned to accept, if not love it, since my daughter has inherited it from me). I'd personally keep the bike shorts as something to wear under dresses, as kind of shapewear/tummy support as I never feel comfortable without some structure around my midsection, and for modesty if I'm concerned about accidently flashing people in a shorter dress. The dress, the jeans and the blue top looked super flattering and absoutely beautiful on you, and your shoulders actually look make you look like you work out (genetic shortcut).

I also had a bicycle injury as a child and refused to get back on! Split my elbow open when I hit a parked car... I think you should keep the jeans since they're cute and comfy and fit perfectly. I'd also consider the navy top and dress if you think you'd wear them. No point keeping them if they're just ok, even if the price is okay for the whole box.
I always use bicycle shorts under my dresses. I work with kids so I tend to be sitting on the ground in a dress and want to keep things covered. It helps with the chub rub like you said and sometimes they have pockets when your dress doesn’t which is a great plus. So I’m not sure if you have anything that you’d potentially wear those under, but it’s an idea. Everything looks great by the way!

I thought all of these pieces looked so good on you! I LOVED that green dress. I think that if the shorts were comfortable enough then you basically get a nice pair of lounging shorts and if they weren't that comfortable then it's not a big loss.

Stylist here- our customer service is amazing, generally even if you forget to send it back, just message them or just send it back and you should receive a refund. They are generally very understanding if you're kind about it and just honest about the fact it was an accident. It happens from time to time
