@@Elliarts54 I am aware unfortunately, thus the "if I could". I would love to see Neuvillette's leviathan form, but I believe his story has only just begun
Remember! The one thing that held Neuvillette back from being reborn was Egeria. So long as the second heart of the Primordial Sea lived, the Hydro Sovereign-the original, couldn't reincarnate. So, Xiuhcoatl could probably come back quicker than Nevuillette.
Love it, great deduction, it really makes sense. Egeria lost her life and became the Gaokerena 500 years ago, right when Neuvillette was born, as if the spot was "freed"
I thought about that after the comment above, considering it has both Golden Entreaties in hand + the Flamelord's blessing and headed where Xiuhcoatl's body was, something grand is bound to happen
You know its kinda funny how Azhdaha who is most likely to be the geo sovereign suffers from Erosion, while Scylla and Waxaklahun are roaming around freely while still having their sanity. This is also the reason why im not a 100% convinced on why Azhdaha is a sovereign. I mean theres a 95% chance that he is but since "Erosion" is a rule that is imposed by The Heavenly Principles, it is wierd for a dragon like him to follow it. Since Neuvillette does say that he obeys no edict from the heavens, i thought it would be the dame for Azhdaha
Erosion affects all, but you are right on one part, it seems to be tied to Istaroth, although it is more of a mental strain than a rule. For Scylla's case, he was impacted by erosion in his own way since his form shifting is a direct consequence of the time that has passed as he was sealed, having lost what makes him a dragon. I recall he doesn't even consider himself part of dragonkind anymore because of it. For the Dragon Sage go figure what he's done to avoid it like Dain or what is face was hiding... Azhdaha's case is the most extreme one, because his was also caused and accelerated by humans digging into the Chasm, which I believe damaged the ley lines of the deep earth and directly reflected on him. He MUST be the Geo Sovereign, he's the king of vishaps in title and follows the evolution order of vishap > primo geovishap > dragon), and the boss primo vishap in game's title refers to Azhdaha
@SerAoth Erosion only affects Zhongli and some of the other archons. It has been explicitly stated, that it does not affect descenders, or beings like the dragons etc haven't stated anything on whether they are affected, or not. Scylla was not impacted by erosion, by the way. Otherwise, it would have been mentioned in the world quest. Unless I forgot that part where it is mentioned. Only archons and Azhdaha has been mentioned to suffer from erosion.
@@Elliarts54 Well... Since Azhdaha suffers from erosion, it's clear and logical that all dragons can as well, a statement isn't required. Especially with Xiuhcoatl, said to have become "old and decrepit", most likely from erosion. It is not tied to only select individuals, any longevous lifeforms, save for Descenders indeed, are subject to erosion. It does not affect them all equally, either, comparing Apep to Xiuhcoatl. Scylla doesn't literally mention "erosion", but indicates the effects of both time and seal on his present condition, matching the more lenient sides of erosion
@@Elliarts54 The only dragon that can potentially be immune is Neuvillette, because he has his authority now and is no longer bound by the rules of Celestia. But the rest cannot. Erosion is a rule, a law and order, just like the curse of immortality and death. You can fight it, you can slow it down but you cannot stop it. Ei for example was able to slow it down by putting er consciousness inside a domain and meditating and adopting a puppet and sword over an ordinary corporal form. Zhongli uses adeptal arts and studies, records and shares information. Azhdaha used the Ley Lines. Venti, some theorises that he sleeps for long periods to slow its advance. It is not known why Scylla and other dragons don't show signs of erosion but Scylla had his body long destroyed by the time we met him, so we will never know. Also Zhongli says that erosion becomes a greater threat the stronger you are, so it's very possible, they just aren't powerful enough for it to present a more significant threat.
Interesting last point you've made, erosion is known to cause anger/irritation more easily which makes the status dangerous on powerful entities, but I never considered twisting it as "high power = faster erosion". Would explain Venti's case, who chose to be weak, and dragons who aren't on aren't enough of a threat yet, or simply too young. It's not as if erosion makes EVERYONE mad instantly, someone like Apep could be on early stages of erosion like Zhongli; nothing to show for it
I find really interesting how in Mexica mythology Xiuhcoatl was a weapon held by Huitzilopochtli, but in genshin is the other way around, Huitzilopochtli is the weapon created by Xiuhcoatl. Also, something I haven't seen anyone pointing out is how in the boss battle against the Lord of Primal Fire, Xiuhcoatl transforms into stars in certain movements, which at least mythologically, I'd say it's because in Mexica beliefs Xiuhcoatl was related to the night sky and some say specifically to the constellation of the pleiades because of its relation to the 52 year cycle described in the Sun Stone Calendar. Actually, the little balls in its snout are supposed to represent stars. This may not be to useful for theory crafting, but I like how hoyo incorporates real world mythology into the game.
Interesting, I've noticed that in his movement transitions in the battle, a literal constellation shape is left behind him, and it seemed strange to me considering the whole setting of Teyvat, but now it makes sense. I had no idea, and I absolutely love learning about the mythology and folklore Hoyo borrows from everywhere, my favorite so far being how they portrayed the Samsara as well as Remus getting his own version of Roma
It's a theory people came up with because the little one's naming script prompts the same reaction as for characters like Neuvillette... But then it also includes Xbalanque which was by no means a sovereign, I'm not too fond of that theory, that would be the weakest sovereign in existence
people are having a lack of text interpretation and wanted to talk to the boss but that was not the sovereign but the abyss taking his shape it is not possible to talk to the abyss, the thing itself only spoke by rearranging the voices of the ancient pyro archons it does not have its own voice nor its own mind
Interesting, I haven't seen people wishing for this in my case but I can imagine. With just a bit of curiosity, anyone can open the archive and read that the boss we fight is the dead body of Xiuhcoatl, controlled by Gosoythoth. I've mentioned it in my story recap video, Gosoythoth manipulates past voices to cause despair (buffing the Traveler while at it) and when it gets hurt, it does show its own voice and intelligence/sentience as it speaks in an incomprehensible abyssal language, so it does have a mind of its own, but not one we can discuss with. There is no room for dialogue, Xiuhcoatl was long dead and the game directly tells us that
@@SerAoth I even saw a lot of people saying that it was disappointing because we couldn't talk to him I liken the abyss to a virus It is a genetic programming that influences the actions of it, not a reasoning in itself yes it can technically communicate but only another virus of the same type can understand it uses the body's functions to its advantage and prolongs its existence it's literally what the abyss was doing to the sovereign's body
@Keiku-kun Great analogy, I was personally comparing the Abyss' abilities to those of a parasite, its level of instincts borders sentience and intelligence due to how quick it adapts and responds to changes around it, essentially identical to a (biological) virus
That's correct for Dvalin's case especially, and that is because the concept of "sovereigns" was not established before Enkanomiya: - Azhdaha is the FIRST geo vishap and, in his prime, was the size of Nantianmen to Tianqiu Valley in length, and had absolute authority over the earth's power - Dvalin is already MASSIVE in size compared to other dragons and even dragonlords, when he was born "recently" on top of the gigantic maelstrom he causes in the prologue From these feats alone, I truly doubt they wouldn't be
Of course, and you are correct about those facts, although I believe the wiki itself assigned Azhdaha as the Geo Sovereign when it's the same situation as Dvalin? Thanks anyhow!
Azhdaha is confirmed enough, he has a lot of lore pointing to it just like Apep. The only outlier is Dvalin, it's safe to say it's most likely him, we know he's part of the vishap race thanks to Enjou, Breeze Amidst the Forest tells us that just like the others, he's also one of the Ancient Elemental Dragons and Otto from Hi3 explicitly refers to Dvalin as "Teyvat's Anemo elemental dragon". Also when Traveler and Paimon talk about elemental dragons, Dvalin comes up, along with Azhdaha, Apep and Neuvillette.
If pyro dragon becomes playable! I want him to be powercrept mavuika as sovereigns > archons > gods > yokai/adeptus > other different races(elvs/demi-humans) > humans
Let's hope that we'll get to see a new Neuvillette scenario. I really like the characters with HEAVY lore like him and Arlecchino powercreeping, it's deserved (not xiangling)
I've seen a fair load of hate for Xiuhcoatl on reddit and his wiki page for one. I feel like people are really hating on Natlan overall, but how do you hate on a DRAGON version of Pontiff Sulyvahn?
dvalin isnt confirmed to be a soverign , just a dragon and no , neuvilette isnt the hydro soverigns reincarnation , kokomi is neuvilettes constelation is leviathan while kokomis is sleeping dragon neuvilette doesnt connect at all to the hydro dragon soverign aside from being a dragon , while kokomi has possible roots in vishaps and has the constelation of a dragon while also wielding the power of hydro together with that constelation + she has way more connection to enkonomya than neuvilette
It's rare that this happens to me, but I have no idea what to tell you. Yes, Kokomi's constellation Dracaena Somnolenta is latin for sleeping dragon, but that's where it stops, I theorize they had initially planned on making her the Hydro Sovereign in my inner circle but...
