- Today we take a look around the Brand New Boohoo Factory and Offices on Thurmaston Lane, Leicester.
We notice a couple of Boohoo Branded Cars, have a good look into the factory where we can see sewing machines being used and have a full walk around the publicly accessible site.
Security come and have a chat to us and we kindly ask him to keep his SIA badge on display when talking to members of the public.
We then read a BBC News article about the place.
Enjoy!

What a nice lad the security guy was - I wish all security were like that, I wish him the best of luck for the future!
Nice but dim.
@@bornfree9547His light shines a lot brighter than some.
Yeah I thought the same, nice chap, all the best to him. 👍
He wasn't nice, he was under-trained and clueless.
@@HandleDeezNutzVoluntarily No mate, he was clever enough to know that DJ was no threat.
Non aggressive, smiling security gaurd. Makes a nice change. The man is a credit to his employers 👍🏴
Lol
You are a breath of fresh air compared to other auditors in this country. This is the standard that all auditors should be aiming for.
So the lack of a perimeter fence around your garden, would mean you wouldn't mind anybody wandering around and videoing through your windows.
Lovely security guy. I would employ him immediately for my company. This is the security people really need. Good for de-escalation, friendly. Humble and of course if needed can report more malicious, criminal aspects to the police as security in the UK can only go so far. More like a light deterrent. So he is just right for what most companies need really.
Clueless... lol
He was nice but not good to be too nice. I mean he was professional and polite but to an auditor which is fine but I would expect my guard to be abit more manly enough and do the job properly against genuine trouble makers so maybe I wouldn't employ him.
@@HandleDeezNutzVoluntarily yes exactly. He seems the type that if a staff or customrer be assaulted Infront of him not manly enough to do anything just stand there and call police.
Nice Somali security guard.
Somalis are friendly ppl.
@@ramatgan1 nice guy certainly and Somalis are nice people mashallah. But as a guard he seems to be too nice when dealing with trouble makers (not saying auditor is trouble maker). If I was looking for a guard to protect my business it wouldn't be him.
What a nice young secruity man best of luck to him
The security guard was a really nice guy.
The security guard was a brief of fresh air and very friendly which was lovely to see. Nice to see a company bringing back Manufacturing to the UK 👌👌👌
Nice to see things being made in Britain 👍🏻👍🏻. Security guard amazing 👍🏻
The security geezer was a decent chap. Makes a change that there isn't the aggression, incompetence, lies and concentration camp guard attitude
No he was clueless... his character has nothing to do with it.
@@HandleDeezNutzVoluntarily
So when humans participate in social interaction; character and pychological personality traits have no importance
On another point stemming around character. There are fundamental reasons why auditing takes place. One of the reasons is to gauge individuals and companies reactions to such events. The issue of an individuals character in the reaction to such events, are of importance
Nice straw man fallacy Tezza. Someone has never seen a basic SIA card. Lol.
@@HandleDeezNutzVoluntarily
Obviously I aint
Nice Somali security guard.
Somalis are friendly ppl.
Security man was a breath of fresh air any mum n dad would be proud off
Nice Somali security guard.
Somalis are friendly ppl.
the security guard who was going to the shop, this gent is a lovely person, pure soul.....................................top man congrats on your new job......
Nice Somali security guard.
Somalis are friendly ppl.
Security Guard clearly has intelligence, tact and diplomacy, with his SIA training, he will no doubt be a contributing & valued member of the Boohoo team in Leicester. Great local story, a successful business making it’s mark!
Nice Somali security guard.
Somalis are friendly ppl.
I couldn't help but warm to that security guy, hope he gets on OK there. Never heard of Boo Hoo before, googled it, have now. Your video can only be of help to them. Nice to see UK manufacturing.
Boohoo werent they the ones that got caught paying its staff £4 an hour?
@@monkeyfunk8371 That’s horrible.. but from the looks of it they still are running what looks like a sweat shop🤷🏼♀️
they don't manufacture here pal.
Nice security guard, if only all security guards were respectful and polite like him.
Thats one of the funniest human interactions i’ve ever seen, the guard bust be blazed out his mind
The online information concerning the general ethics of Boohoo is not promising. Another grand PINAC video👍
Absolute hermit this fella yano
Great work DJ, this high calibre of professionalism and citizen journalism is refreshing to see in the auditing genre.
Congratulations on hiting 13K 🔥
Thank you so much!!
Nice Somali security guard.
Somalis are friendly ppl.
Boohoo cheap clothing made with cheap material nice clean sweatshop.Wonderful.
Oh Dj I think you are far more intelligent than I realised and the sarcasm is off the scale lol love it my friend all the best mate.
With a name like BooHoo I thought it was going to all end in tears but security lad was sound tbf 👌
We used to do that work in this country right up to the last ten years.
I saw that on the way to Syston the other day, thought it was a head office.. I’m shocked 😳
Great work! The security guy😂😂
As a sia licensed guard mtself he done such a good job. He could have been a suspicious person taking videos and photos to document a potential site to overtake. And also he does not need to have bus license on show as he’s on private land
G'day Dj, nice little video. The young security guard was very polite and a good advert for the company . All the best form down under 👍
Hey DJ, just updates to the law. We only have to display our badge if working as a door supervisor. It is advised that all persons wear badge visibly however no longer law.
They're not just bringing the jobs here, it looks like they are also bringing the people here with the jobs. Not an Englishman in sight.
Racist.
The English too busy sitting on their arse claiming disability and benefits
Another absolutely fantastic video. More of these videos please.
Security nice chap they should all take note on HIS approach - Good Luck boo hoo bringing jobs to the area this is good - love the car regs - Stay Safe - PINAC!
Not all security need an SIA badge. In house security do not need them, only companies that supply guards on contract need them.
DJ audits isn't actually well educated on SIA licence requirements though but likes to think he's better than others when he's not. How he speaks to some is simply disgusting and just antagonistic. He risks his own safety by going on to sites and then refuses to leave or tries to preach. He's simply a trouble maker.
Dj audits I love your channel keep up the good work from Dublin
Great video and respect to the security guy my black brother 👍 🙌 👏
Eh clueso. Don't boo boo now. You could get stitched up looking at young ladies through windows. Nice to hear that they putting their house in order. Shows good and in that case they deserve to succeed. And made in great Britain. Well done d.j.
Many years ago I had the displeasure of working at Boohoo in the office in Manchester. I worked in the artworking/photo re-touch department. All I can say is that it was one of the worst experiences of my entire working career. A massive bullying culture, an unfriendly vibe all round with managers who were the worst ive ever encountered, which made my days there absolute hell. Also I had the displeasure meeting the main CEO of BooHoo (whose name I don't wish to repeat)....who is one of the worst people ive met in my entire life, successful yes but an extremely unlikeable person to the extreme. Quite frankly the worst person ive met in my entire career and that's saying something. I absolutely despise BooHoo as a company and what they are about. I didn't meet one nice person in my whole time working there.
You have to be a particular type of human to build an empire otherwise you spend your life wallowing with unproductive sheep looking for friends at work.
Absolutely fantastic DJ Audits 🇬🇧❤️✌️💚
❤️❤️❤️
All the best to the security guy in his new job and the lady seamstresses (guys included) ;-)
Closing a car dealership, replacing it with a sweatshop,It shows where Britain is going, Soon to be a third world country while they thrive building our cars.
Exactly, this ain't good . Disturbing to see
Please be aware that sometimes during your Audits security guards do not need to display a SIA badge. This is because only contracted security need a licence and those who do have a licence are not required to display it when they are in-house security.
Sweatshop
More news than an audit, which is great for people to see.😎
You knkw what, people in the UK making cloths I have to agree that's a real step in the right direction
👍
Great to see manufacturing in the UK.
Especially ones who don't employ UK citizens!
Fair play to the security guy, nice n polite. 👏
“”STOP PRONOUNCING IT YOU-TOOB!!!”🤬
Thumbs up. good luck to Boohoo and the young security guard.
Thumbs up for DJ Audits. This is the right way to Audit. Fair, polite but not a push over if he gets aggro. This channel has become one of my most looked forward to, especially because of the highlighting of disabled accessibility issues. Well done as usual mate 👍👏♿️
❤️❤️❤️
Another great video bro keep them coming take care stay safe
The security Guard was nice good job
A shame that material was just thrown in a skip. Local schools and pre schools would love to have that. I was surprised you didn't raise that DJ with your usual environmental concerns.
That will end up being sold as remnants Judith,I buy and make soft toys and patched soft furnishings.Even the scraps are not wasted.
Good to know Linda
Very interesting video!
Aww, the Security man was lovely.
Nice Somali security guard.
Somalis are friendly ppl.
Good video mate. Please continue your good work. Your commentary is informative and entertaining.
I really respect how DJ goes about his audits: very pleasant with his interactions, informed, explains why he is videoing to those who question him and doesn’t make personal insults towards others like a lot of the other auditors do. Fair play to him, hope he does well.
ooi ooi the old car dealership 😎 dont live 5 min from there .. great fields for dirt biking nearby💯 RESPECT AS ALWAYS BROTHER
So they start off with a large piece of material??
I am not a fan of big corporations. However I am assuming those women working there are not being abused and exploited and are paid a fair wage.
Thank you, you've signalled your virtue, we know you have great morals, thanks
I will be looking out for the remnants when I go to buy material.
Good man. Security gaurd.
nice guy security guard.
The most placid security guard. God bless him!
passive security guy / Love him mother drops him off picks him up at 5.30
Good vid DJ, keep them up.
If you search up the boo hoo car number plate it states the colour white... when did pink look white lol
😮😮😮
No exit. How are we supposed to get out 🤦♂️
I don’t usually comment on audits because alot of these guys just want to gauge a reaction from the public even when they are wrong or cause an incident or negative reaction and want to play the victim. However DJ sir, you are very professional and I like your mannerisms and politeness. Very good insight and wish you all the best mate! :) subscribed :)
Thanks, that means a lot to me actually. ❤❤❤
Isn't that the whole point? Corporates and institutions need to be kept on their toes and accountable. Otherwise when they influence government policy to the detriment of everyone else (see 'The City Of London rememberancer') then it is you that will surely complain.
Well done Boohoo and of course DJ👍🏻
Thank you 🙌
Good watch keep um coming.
Looks like an i dian sweat shop. No equal opportunities at boohooman
legendary audit
Vauxhall, that would be a classic.
just found your channel .. man, you've got some cajones .. I have a suggestion for a location that would make an interesting audit .. British Sugar' cannabis farm .. did you know they are the largest global supplier!?
Sweat shop exposed woop woop 🙌
Why do you hide your reflection?
🙊🙊🙊
Great vid my evening clip for tonight 👍🏻
Great audit, however I'm glad working conditions are good but it seems slightly degrading?
Missed a trick with the parking mate
The red bmw how the hell was he gonna get in his car with those tight spaces
So much for 'diversity'. Not a very good mix of people in the factory suggests double standards does it not?
Security huba duba wooby wuba
Seams to be making a difference for a large growing company. Might just make an investment
Seems they normally come free on clothes.. its where the cloth is joined.. sorry could not resist that one.. but yeh good and interesting videos that dj puts out. Informative as well. Av a good new year.
The thread continues
SIA badge is for the law enforcement agents, SIA agents, not for the member of the public. Badge merely needs to be ready to present when asked by authorised personnel. The drunkard around the corner who was just thrown out after trespassing a private property doesn't need to know your name and where you live. If he has an issue he can call the police and the police will request the details of the badge for further processing.
As if covert close protection operatives were going to show their badge at all times to the public....
His SIA badge needs to be on display though at all times, not under your coat hidden away!
These security badges only came in to force from 2005 where was the need b4 for u moronnns to moan about
Not technically correct and if he's employed in house and not via a company that provides security that you pay for, he doesn't even legally require to hold an SIA licence. View SIA website to see the actual true requirements.
He could of also just been going for his lunch and noticed this plonker.
SIA states that licences aren't always required to be displayed. If an operative is required to do a role that is undercover security then licences don't have to be displayed. The only people that operative have to legally produce their licence to is SIA and Police. Operatives don't have to legally produce it to members of the public.
Not all security require an SIA licence. SIA website provides information on when licences are required, what is regulated activities etc. Recommend that you view it and educate.
Full pass for Boohoo well done Mr security man.
'This sort of stuff is done over seas'...what a muppet.
The clown need to have something better to do than bothering the company and security guard
its suppose to be: "BU-FU" - "Buy Us - Fuck U" - anybody remembers that? :D
Dull dull dull… where is the audit??? Just some dude with nothing better to do than snoop around private property… We ALL know BOO HOO and their amazing success. This channel has a long long long way to go …
Have you seen how old the video is? This was in the very early days of the channel. 💚
@@DJAUDITS My extreme apologies - I went onto watch hours of your material and it’s amazing. Please excuse my ignorance 🥹
Sure they may be "Creating Jobs" but i dont see One Single Native Brit working there .
Because is it hard repetitive work & some Brits prefer to live off the state & have kids.
There used to be Native Machinist way back! Piece work back then!
I have friends who worked 70's 80's but the Textile World changed it doesn't look so appealing!
It's a job other people did years ago.
I've family who work in this Industry but it's in the Office. My Daughter worked for Fast Fashion Companies in the Office Indian,Chinese owned and all their staff in the Warehouse were not from the UK.Another worked picking goods but was the only white person in the warehouse and the other workers wouldn't open their mouths to her as you weren't allowed to talk sounds like the Factories of years gone by! Or the Typing Pool.
It suits these companies I guess the workers do as their told or they're out of a job.
May be as British as anyone else. Just because your ethnicity is different doesnt mean you aren't a British citizen they could have been born here. I'm an immigrant and have citizenship but consider myself on an equal footing with anyone else in applying for a job.
@@judithmatthews8460 But are they Legal . I doubt it . I could care less who works where but when you have Illegals and Economic Migrants taking first crack, then i have a problem .
You clearly do care because you judged them by looks. " I don't SEE one single native Brit." My point is how do you know they aren't native to the country plus it doesn't matter if they arent. Doubt a national company employs illegals. I'm uncomfortable with your thoughts, imagine if they read your comment how they feel .
Did you just film a sweat shop in the making bet they pay them pennies for working there. Good job man security was sound.
Respect
Legal Sweatshop ?
Good job bro 👌🏼💯
What subject do you teach at your school?
The requirements these lads have to jump through for a minimum wage job is scandalous
Do they need a telehandler driver 😆😆😆😆😆😆
I’m security
These companies employ anybody
By the look of his facial expressions
Tells me he failed his basic exam results I will give him a job cleaning toilets
good security & vid
that 'no exit' was as you say were for the access to the marshall vauxhall centre & the egress was to the rear of the now kfc
