About Nissan's ProPILOT technology

ProPILOT Assist uses a forward-facing camera, forward-facing radar, sensors and electronic control module to help the driver stay in the center of the driving lane and to maintain vehicle speed (set by the driver) or help maintain a gap to the preceding vehicle if the vehicle speed drops below the driver-set speed. It also can slow the vehicle to a complete stop and holds the vehicle during traffic jam conditions.
How Does The System Work?

Nissan's new ProPILOT Assist eases driver workload by reducing the amount of driver acceleration, steering and braking input under certain driving conditions. To activate the system, the driver simply pushes the blue ProPILOT Assist ON button, which is integrated into the right-side steering wheel spoke. Step two is to set the Intelligent Cruise Control when the desired speed is reached, as with a normal advanced cruise control system.

Thank you for an informative video. Please could I make a suggestion that future Nissans have verbal alerts rather than a collection of chimes, bongs, beeps, double beeps etc. My Leaf is always alerting me to something - I usually have no idea what. "Please return your hands to the wheel".

The new Qashqai comes with ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link as standard on both the Tekna and Tekna+ grades, and is an option for N-Connecta. Please be aware that it is only available for Xtronic transmissions. It is designed to reduce fatigue and stress when driving while being very intuitive to use. Why is the fuel gauge in the cashqai not angled towards the drivers line of sight? If I am low on fuel I have to move my whole head off to the right (right hand drive) to see a correct visualization of where the needle is on the dial, because it sits a few mm off the background and skews the perception making me think I have more fuel than I actually do because I am seeing the small gap. If you change the angle so that the gauge is facing me directly this problem is solved. Have a design person look at this.
