- Watch as I attempt to repair this adorably-tiny Sony "KV-8AD10" CRT television with a degaussing coil, hopefully without burning my home down!
Here's the degaussing coil I purchased (this is not a sponsored video, I bought this): www.arcadepart...
I hope other folks in the #Gaming / #RetroGaming / #RetroComputing #SNES / #Nintendo communities enjoy this too!
very cool! happy to see it worked!
This was really some Star Trek magic. :) Great video :)
Thanks so much!
Amazing...one day I hope to get one of these bad boys and potentially see about upgrading it with Stereo and RGB video. It seems like such a nifty monitor!
Woah! That was so cool to see!
Thanks for watching!
That really is amazing, I didn't think these worked all that well!
Right?! Crazy how well it worked - definitely looking forward to zapping other old CRT's in my collection soon
This is so incredible and fascinating to see. Yesterday I picked up that exact model Trinitron (I love how small it is), but ran into the same issue interestingly. Was wondering: if you degauss it once, is it fixed forever? Or will you likely need to degauss it again in the future?
I wouldn't say that the degauss effect lasts forever, but it does last quite a while if there aren't any other issues with the display and if no magnets pass close to the glass. Congrats on finding one of your own - they're so cool!
What degaussing coil did you buy?
Also I love that scene of MiTM!
Thanks for watching! Also, here's the specific item I ordered - I'm really looking forward to using it with a few other vintage color CRT's that I think will benefit from a 'magnetic tune-up'
