Getting twords retirement years, I always dreamed of traveling, seeing new sights, meeting other people doing the same. Seeing some beautiful national parks. Just going where hearts desire. You work all your life and miss the simple non stressful ways you had as a child. Many blessings and safe travels.

Your area reminds me of Ontario shield country. I grew up in the Southeast Saskatchewan, around the White Bear Lake area, where the Loon and the Downy, Snowy, and Pileated Woodpeckers reside. Should be fall colours in the White Popular and Aspen now. I've also moved on and find my local in Banff and Kananaskis, tis the season for the Elk and Big Horn Sheep rut. Elk Island has both Elk and tree and prairie Buffalo rut. The Wildfires smoke has gone, but there is still a haze in the mornings, as the sun is setting earlier, and the US GFS Forecast shows us getting snow by September 29. I hope your travels bring you blue skies, wonderful views, and memories. Love your lake views, and commentary.

That's awesome, I am from Arkansas and travel full time with six rescues (yes I said six, lol). Most of us full-timers head down to south AZ for the winter to the LTVA's (Long Term Visitor Areas). I was outside Yuma, AZ last year during the winter and out of the 5 guys I rode motorcycles with 4 were from Canada. It was awesome meeting them and they were all so cool! I wish you the best in your travels and be safe out there!

Good morning my dear! When you cross the border, I am 35 miles south of the peace bridge, but you don’t want to be here in the winter. Good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise, I don’t want to be here for the winter. I am not in charge though, I am where i am, because that is where I need to be.
The frog made me laugh. The universe has a funny way of showing me things. The coincidences sometimes are uncanny. Remind me sometime and I’ll tell you all about it.

Miss Snow and my dog have something in common they like to chase squirrels and chipmunks. Yes as we get older it is good to step back and evaluate what we really want to do in life. If you are young enough to travel its always good to get out and explore. At 73 my exploring days are over. While you are young enough to do it I say why not. You should go back too the off grid place you had back in the 2007 year but I think that was crown land so no permanent residence

If you go to eastern Tennessee you wont be very far from my area! Western North Carolina is a beautiful part of the Appalachian mountains this time of year and the trees are just starting to change color right now! It'll be a multi colored landscape in 2 or 3 weeks around my home-town...As long as it doesn't rain and the wind stays calm, that will knock all the gold, orange and brown leaves off the trees!

when I was a young boy on farm in northern Minnesota, I used to catch frogs, and that first clip of the frog in this video brought back something to me.. I could smell it... they do have a smell about them.. I was probably about 8-9... 72 now..

You mentioned Tennessee as a destination. Lots of beautiful outdoors, trails etc. here and especially the mountains of East Tennessee. The state has about 40+ state parks, many with campgrounds. If/as you enter the state stop at one of the state welcome centers and pick up info on these parks. Best of luck to you and Miss Snow in your travels

You’re going to LOVE Arkansas! It is referred to as “the natural state” with wonderful mountains and beautiful National Forests! Just don’t be out in the woods during the summer, you’ll get eat up by ticks and chiggers…!!! Most folks that aren’t from the southeastern US have no idea what a chigger is, but they are awful!!
