I wish they did the korean war instead of the gulf War because in black ops 2 they did the original cold war and the second cold war with the coummist Chinese and the USA
I LOVE the idea of playing as David Mason in the gulf war. Ideally we’d see him fighting and going on missions, getting experience which leads him to eventually becoming skilled enough to join the navy seals. Throw in some references to Woods, Harper, Salazar and boom, we got a fire campaign.
I think Black ops 2 worked so well, because it was right on the verge of futuristic, but honestly it's probably accurate to what fighting as a special forces operator in 2025 would be like, even the awkward jet packs which I saw test footage for maybe a year or two ago.

As long as Gulf War and BO2025 show the final round off story with Woods and Menendez I'll be settled. We still haven't seen the mission where Woods is captured. Also how crazy would it be if Mason left the military because of Adler. They took part in an MKUltra experiment with Bell, just as the Soviets did with Mason. Then once Adler was done with Bell, he was terminated(seemingly). This would be a perfect reason for Alex to want to be done with this world, Adler essentially doing what was done to Mason and also seeing another fate Mason could've suffered after Dragovich and Kennedy.
If the continuity holds true especially depending on what ending they make the past of Blops 2 canon Mason would be shot in the leg and no one would see him until 2025. Otherwise he’d be dead since he would be either shot in the leg or head in 1989. Gulf war takes place shortly after in 90/91. So Mason would either be in hiding or dead. Also unless that’s retconned.

Mason was shown retired and living with David at the time but since most mission jump around alot anyway it would be interesting to see if maybe the first playable mission in Gulf War is actually Alex's final mission. I'm wondering if what Adler had done to Bell and eventually himself being brainwashed pushed him over the edge and Woods being the only family he has left, rescuing him would be the only reason to come back.

Including: -Does Woods Kill Mason in “Suffer With Me”? -Are all 4 main Strike Force Missions successful? -Who survives “Achilles Veil”? Harper or Farid? -Do Chloe/Karma, Adm. Briggs, and the USS Obama survive the Drone attack in “Odysseus”? Questions that I hope get answered or alluded to.
Some files in Blops 3 vaguely address some of it. Menedez does get killed by Mason. But with menendez trying to flee his death was seen as cowardly so while some of his followers were pissed the group disbanded bc of disfunctionality. We’ll definitely get more closure on those other questions though! The canon we’ve gotten so far hasn’t matched most of what happened in blops 3.

I'm kind of surprised they don't have a CoD for the Korean War. It wasn't a particularly exciting war but they could have had it as a backdrop the same way Vietnam is for BO1 and Cold War

My idea for gulf war would be playing as mason on some deep covert ops and really digging into secrets of his past and more details on what happened to Reznov…. Like I imagine some badass mission where mason has to break into the pentagon all stealth like and get some files explaining more history or intel….. or if they wanted to do a one off mission like project nova in the first game where it’s in a new setting all together, I think there’s some eras of the 60s that couldve been touched. Anything involving the campaigns from the Cold War Era, I absolutely love. Any of the present day stuff doesn't appeal to me. I'm old school. Alex Mason is THE BO character. His brainwashing story was amazing. I want to see more of him and that stuff personally! There's still so much potential in the brainwashing aspects of the Cold War. Maybe even some of the remote viewing and psychic stuff? What a twist that would be. Basically what I'm saying is BO = mind stuff for me. That's what made the original BO so amazing. If its called Black Ops Gulf War...is it Gulf War 1...so set in 1991 (and they could continue the story of Woods, Mason, Hudson and Adler, and maybe tie in the cryptic email about the SAS being tasked with trying to eliminate them, or Gulf War 2, from 2001 onwards and tie in the David Mason story...I.e, a prequel to black ops 2....that's the big question here. And for black ops 2025, they could either continue the story after black ops 2, OR, set the game in like 2035 or so and make an actual prequel to Black Ops 3, (disregarding BO4 as that had no real story and was a steaming dumpster fire 😂)

I really hope they remaster the bo2 campaign because it’s been broken and unplayable for the longest time on console and pc through crashes.

From what I know about COD 2025, all I found out is that it's going to be a semi-futuristic version of Black Ops 2 and that it's going to be set in 2030 and introduce many remastered maps as well.

BO 2025 should take place between BO2 and BO3, have you play as David and the story lead to the events of BO3. We need to see where David Masons story ends.

I feel like game would more so take place around 1990-1992 since it’s when Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm took place rather than 1997 since the war was just about over by then. Btw side note a direct sequel to BO2 sounds cool but if we’re assuming it’ll have David Mason then it isn’t plausible. David, at the end of the BO2 campaign, was about to be done so I don’t see a sequel with him still enlisted. I like the idea of a BO2 remaster a lot more bc it makes more sense

Anything involving the campaigns from the Cold War Era, I absolutely love. Any of the present day stuff doesn't appeal to me. I'm old school. Alex Mason is THE BO character. His brainwashing story was amazing. I want to see more of him and that stuff personally! There's still so much potential in the brainwashing aspects of the Cold War. Maybe even some of the remote viewing and psychic stuff? What a twist that would be. Basically what I'm saying is BO = mind stuff for me. That's what made the original BO so amazing. Let's see more mind stuff with Mason, even Bell. Kennedy assassination? Oh man there's so much I'd love to see them explore 👌

If its called Black Ops Gulf War...is it Gulf War 1...so set in 1991 (and they could continue the story of Woods, Mason, Hudson and Adler, and maybe tie in the cryptic email about the SAS being tasked with trying to eliminate them, or Gulf War 2, from 2001 onwards and tie in the David Mason story...I.e, a prequel to black ops 2....that's the big question here. And for black ops 2025, they could either continue the story after black ops 2, OR, set the game in like 2035 or so and make an actual prequel to Black Ops 3, (disregarding BO4 as that had no real story and was a steaming dumpster fire 😂)

I think making bo2 canon to the current story like is a huge mistake honestly. Leaves little time between mw3 and bo2 for technology to evolve and have room for another mw game and story to take place.

It’s an emp gun which exists and in my opinion the technology is far too advanced for a 2 year time jump from mw3 and bo2 and that’s not even the biggest reason why it should be reconsidered which is the part you’re not acknowledging. the fact of how it’d collide with the mw story line with it being so close to mw3’s 2023. I love treyarch and I love bo2 but they shouldn’t t have rebooted the mw story line just to squish the Bo series into it. Waw and bo1 work great as it’s so far into the past that they have a large time spawn to connect the series but bringing in bo2 where there’s a night and day difference between mw3 and bo2 is just a bad idea. Should have just rebooted bo2.
