- What a voice! Marion Williams at the start of her solo gospel career with a half-hour TV show. Songs:- Great Big God from A Voice of Hope; Peace in the Valley; We Shall Overcome; The Exodus Song (This Land is Mine); Michael, Row The Boat Ashore; Who Made The Mountain (Somebody Bigger Than You Or I); The Whole Wide World in His Hands; When the Saints Go Marching In.
Accompanied by Tommy Brown, piano; Joe Washington, organ; Billy Tuliver, drums, Barbara White & Ann Bolden, vocals. Filmed in Belgium for the 'Face Au Public' programme, broadcast on Christmas Day 1965.

I just love her, love her singing 'Peace In The Valley'. Marion touched me singing that one.
I believe Whitney's mother Cissy, cited her as an inspiration. She sang 'Peace In The Valley' years ago (early 90's) with her daughter, BeBe, and CeCe Winans in the background.

A beautiful lady, singer and performer with vocals that were next to none. She truly had a gift when it came to singing. BMO was blessed to have her as a member of their congregation. What a church with Mother Williams and Mother Irene Oakley in the same building. After mother williams prepped you with song. Then Mother Oakley would feed your spirit with the word as she saw it. What a day it would be. There were no one hour services when you walked in B.M.O., but you never realized that you had spent most of the night or day in word unless you had something else to do or you were forced to worship with your parents or grands:).
This pianist so talented - sings and plays- and attitude to fit into the illustrative singing - great spirit of working together.
This brings back many memories of my childhood and my belated beloved sweet Mother. Thank you for sharing.
Absolutely, incredible! I love her so much. She should have hundreds of million views. There is no one like her on earth. Rolling Stone was right to say she was greatest singer.

She is so remarkable. Do you know some page where I can find / stream or download her albums? I have a lot of material of her between 1960 - 1970, but it's difficult to find her entire discography...
