I'm in the UK with a 2011 1.4 Meriva B (S10 with A14XER) and struggled to find a video for replacing the alternator. Just realised the Cruze has pretty much the same engine. Thanks for your video.

I'm sorry..... But you don't have to jack the car up nor take the motor mounts off.....I just did it on a 2015..... Did everything from the top

@@tio7357 ..... If your talking about the tension pulley nah...... Only if it's bad..... But you know what I found out... If your never changed any of the pulley's is good to do so.... It will remove any of the drag of the belt.....

@coreywashington9502 ya I did end up removing it to get yo the alternator the problem is that my car seems to still have battery problems even after I changed the alternator, already made sure battery is good, new starter and now new alternator

So you dont need a jack to hold the engine everything can be done from the top? Cause i can replace it myself not spending 400 on no maintenance i can do

Not necessary to remove motor Mount. May take two people on the belt. But replaced mine avoiding removal of motor Mount. 💯💯💯

If it is old , never been replaced then you didn't anything wrong just replace it

I thought you can loosen up the alternator's bolts and push the alternator down to loosen up the belt.

The oil pan,make you use a 2×4 wood between the jack and the oil pan like in the video
