- Well, it's been a while. Lack of motivation combined with an excessive amount of work lately has left me spending very little time in Fruity Loops. This song has been tinkered with on and off ever since I uploaded Assault, but I finished it off through two all-nighters a couple of days ago.
Two boss themes are hidden in here somewhere too.

If you aren't intimately familiar with the original source, look it up and have a listen. The exposition that Stone wrote for this song is amazing because it is much more musically complex than the source material but also hangs together with it in theme and style. This makes returning to the main theme in the recapitulation that much more rewarding because there isn't any kind of break or seam to interrupt the forward drive of the song. Masterfully done, Mr McKnuckle! The amount of creativity and work that went into this is apparent.

Every few years I "re-discover" this cannel and remember why I liked it so much, hell I have downloaded songs and put them in my devices to listen, sadly Spotify has spoiled us with music streaming so I just don´t listen to his tunes as much as I should.

I hate to say it, I never made it to Area 7 as a child. And no, I wasn't allowed to keep the NES on.

Second one plays during the first two solos, starting at 0:54. The rhythm has been changed a little to sound better at this speed though :>

After hearing this song quite a bit of times (I love it), felt the vibes from the old solo in this version too. So the good ol' badass 8-bit solo lives on in spirit. AWESOME JOB!
This track heavily reminds me of _F-Zero_. Specifically the later games.

The solo's actually in there, at 2.30, it's just in half-time and with a few extra notes thrown in here and there. I guess it's not really a solo anymore though, sorry. :>

I just recently checked up on those games.
As someone old enough to have played the original on the NES, all I have to say about Zero:
Yes, better graphics, weapons, and story.
BUT! (And I'm pulling up my figurative suspenders here)

Kids these days will never know the struggle! All we had was the pause button, and the hope thd NES didn't crash overnight!

Or try playing as Ekoro in Zero. Ugh. I don't know if it's me or if she's actually bad, but I know I'm terrible with her.
At least there's extras to give the game some replay value outside of hair-pulling difficulty that we used to (and still do, depending on personal skill) have.

This is a lot better than the remix they used in Blaster Master Overdrive. BMO was a great game but the music was lacking in some places.
