I am an original Yes fan now well into my late 60's, I have to say the first 2 albums were never overlooked and were most probably the best 2 albums ever ever recorded. I remember in the early 70's longing to hear a glimpse of Somethings Coming and Dear Father but in the end the two tracks surfaced in the later years. I have triumphed both the Chris Squire unique stereo Rickenbacker clonky bass sound we hear on these first two albums and the bass sound of America after years of experimenting with Rickenbackers, fuzz boxes and Cry Baby's and also in my modern jazz guitar playing which sounds very similar to Pete Banks using his signature volume pedal violin sound and octave lead lines as I think he did in Hello by Lionel Richie.
'YES' was the 1st LP I bought (an Import) and still one of my favorite YES releases. I saw Peter with 'Flash' @ The Whisky A'Go Go when he brought them to America promoting their 1st release. He is indeed sorely missed !
I would of loved to see this tour. I have a lot of respect for Pete as YES' original guitarist. Those first two albums are as much a part of the YES catalog as the last two and all in between. RIP Peter Banks.
I still pull them out and play them as often as I do any of the other Yes albums. Incredible work by an underrated, under-appreciated player. Love his "Two Sides . . ." album.
Ambrosia's first album was great! It's a shame they had a hit from it (Holding on to Yesterday), and followed that route instead of the progressive nature of the rest of the album
I was so excited when Peter announced this tour on Facebook. It would have been FANTASTIC. Rest in peace, Peter.

I never overlooked YES S/T, YES T&AW. I bought those both June 1973, 45 years ago. Also Peter Banks, FLASH/ Empire/solo/ guest appearances.
Its a shame that this tour didn't happen. I would have loved to have seen the show. I'm sure Pete would have turned the bass down in the mix
It's quite the shame that those first two albums, the groups amazing and formative beginnings, are all but overlooked by even the staunchest YES fans.

Lovely pic of Peter holding up that guitar 1:35
May god bless us. As we go extinct won't this testimony to our joy somehow last.

I took the photo on the original YES songs live cd and posted it to Pete Banks, was wondering if i was credited for the photo?
Sorry this is the real yes.
