I beg you to start using more packs in your builds, I think it's safe to say there is enough content made by you that contemplates players who have very few packs or just the base game. You always joke about how you keep doing the same builds and it's not cause you're not creative - you are, very - it's cause you are constantly limiting yourself as a creator to please.... some folks, and be democratic?? I mean if you just love using base game ignore everything I said, you owe nothing to anyone, but I feel you second guess yourself all the time and it reflects in a lot of your content, and it's a shame cause you're great and your community loves you.

KAYLA! it is okay to use more than base game! We don’t watch for base game homes, we watch to see you build creativity. I don’t mean to be rude but you have built enough suburban base game family homes. (Most simmers also have a pack or two)

I agree with a lot of other people! Love your builds, but you do basegame builds so often and they tend to look very similar. It's okay to build with a lot of packs! Those with only basegame have plenty to choose from already. I love when you do your Legacy houses because you just go nuts with packs and details and it's so much fun to see!
It seems like there's a strong voice through the comments in support of creativity and moving away from base game/blue swatches. Personally, I too would love to see more pack builds, but I also understand the comfort of the familiar.
It would be so fun to see you do a “No Base Game Build” where you used all the packs EXCEPT for base game.
I totally get having your comfort zone, I have mine too! But I’d love to see you let yourself have fun and be unrestricted creatively for more builds! I don’t have a ton of packs, but I wouldn’t mind, and I’m sure others would understand too!

Also same with the budgets, I’m honestly one of those players who used the Freerealestate cheat and just give my sims like $1000 to start with. Hey, just wanted to let you know that I really like your channel and you seem like a great person. I myself don't own any packs (except the new free kit lol) but I want to see you use every additional pack/kit/or even CC and just let your creativity shine through! I don't think that you have to limit yourself to the base game, do whatever YOU want with all the packs. Not everything you build has to be accessible to everyone, it's okay if we just watch a video of you decorating with all the items available. It'll be even more fun. ❤️☺️
Sigh, I realise there's no point in asking why this build had to be base game again because there are hundreds of comments about it already... but I'm really confused. There is an alien with the outdoor retreat aspiration. Why not use those packs at least? Makes no sense to me to randomise sims and then do nothing specific to them...?
Agreed! I think it's also saying a lot that a majority of the comments is about branching out from BG only builds. Like, Kayla please listen to your community! Isn't that what part of having a fanbase is about? Maybe I'm wrong or reaching but again, it's really showing with the comments that we're tired of the same thing over and over again. :/

Challenge : NO base game items. EVERYTHING need to come from a specific pack or kit as much as possible. Can use ONE additional pack/kit, but only for class of items not available in the main pack.
I’m about to stop watching unless it’s her LPs tbh. They are all the same video. Same exact furniture & build style

I like base game builds, they're quick and easy to download when you need some townies or public lots but also... it's weird to assume nobody has any packs, The Sims 4 wouldn't be pushing out more and more if people weren't buying them and different packs provide furnishing styles that are actually branching out. I don't buy them anymore, but I didn't spend hundreds of dollars to never have any nice builds using them, especially since gallery builds tend to go all or nothing on the packs. Also, to be honest... nowadays people who only have base game usually run it with hundreds of mods and download gallery pieces that use the T.O.O.L mod rather than just the default items.

Build challenge: Build a decent sized family home, but you can’t use any items/wallpaper/floor/landscaping etc that you used in your last three builds. Inc debug.

Not to sound rude, but does Kayla ever read her UA-cam comments? I've seen so many videos over and over where the comments are all the same, and I agree with them! She keeps getting stuck in the same rules she sets and it's OKAY to use more than just base game. Game's been out for over 8 years, it's gonna be free soon, MOST people have more than just the base game at this point, surely. Just disable all the packs you own if you wanna keep using base game "for everyone else's sake", otherwise you're just disabling yourself from being the most creative you can or want to be! Alternatively, start with "no kits" or "no stuff packs" if you really want to set smaller boundaries but still branch out more.

Kayla!! I love your Blue Base Game Suburban houses, but i agree with a LOT of other comments here, you should try getting out of your comfort zone. Also I thought you could re-do this challenge by actually focusing on the sims' traits :) Great video as always!!
I'd love to see you step out of your comfort zone more, doing builds in places where you usually don't build, with packs and in other styles that you don't usually build in. Right now it feels like you're building the same house over and over again with slight variations.

Honestly, the staircase in that middle dormer would've worked really nicely! Sunlight shining on the stairs, it uses that awkward space, and it would be a neat layout for the bottom floor. Either way, I enjoy your build videos a ton, keep up the great work! :D

It'd be really cool to see you do a no base game challenge maybe!! or idk a series of challenges on each pack (build a house that centers the content of X pack, not that you can only use that pack bc I know a lot of them don't have like. objects to make a functional house 😂)

The houses tend to look the same because you can only do so much with base game, can there be a series like every Tuesday you do a build with no restrictions? I love the nightmare legacy builds but they’re so few and far between

kayla! we love these a lot and, as someone who only has the base game, am really happy you do them, but you should totally do more builds using the packs! you're so creative but you can only do so much with base game, especially when you're putting out videos using the game every single day. personally i would love more of a 50/50 blend of super outside of the box houses using all the packs and also base game challenges and starter homes and all of that! ofc do whatever makes you the happiest though, and i love any of your videos

I wanted to comment the same thing, been watching her for years now. Base game builds are fine but it's becoming so boring, I love when she builds homes for her legacy or just builds she wanted to without limiting packs. But now it just seems like she's full of gallery guilt and feels like she has to do base game because of people who don't own packs, like I get that but people still like to see something different. My dream would be if she tried building a home with base game and cc, would be so fun but feels like she will never do it due to the console players guilt and also people who can't/don't want to have mods. But I firmly believe there needs to be some variety...

I like the premise of this challenge and may try it for myself, but eight years in and quite honestly, not many people at all will give a shirt about you using base game only items when the majority of us have many other packs. It's okay to "branch out" into using them.

I’d also like to add to the people saying that more packs used for builds would be nice, I really need inspiration for how to use some of these dlc items I’m not really a good builder but you always have cool ways to use niche furniture items

Kayla you should try to start building new things, try challenges, I don't know, fresh content would be amazing because you keep building the same cheap base game over and over again. You used to build real houses and those were really good! There are a lot of challenges that would give you channel a fresh air, we as an audience are asking for it, please listen, we know you have a great potential;
I honestly feel like Kayla never reads the youtube comments. It kinda makes me sad to see how so many people beg her to build houses with more packs, no restrictions and even custom content, and yet she still thinks people only want base game only houses.. on a budget. I love her builds, and yeah, having a budget challenge might make it a bit more fun. But let’s be honest, we can all agree that it’s getting soo tiring seeing the same base game budget builds (with the same cheap furnitures) :(. Anyways, I know she’s trying her best to please everyone but the her build videos are getting drier and drier, at least for me.
The lighting is bight and cheerful. Don't worry about the pink. Your videos from your previous house gave more of a pink hue to your complexion. The most recent videos from your new one doesn't.

Build challange: similar to this but you build the house respecting not only the traits but also the likes/dislakes system randomly generated on a family! I hope I made it clear since English is not my first language. But like you create random sims with random likes/dislikes and use them to determine the style of the furniture, colors etc. Could be a fun challange
I mean this in the nicest way possible but what was the point of using the game's generator to give you a family if you were just going to build a modest, limited funds, base game only home that's nearly identical to all your other builds?? 😭😭😭

Build idea, spin for like 3 packs then build with that! I feel like a lot of people have at least 1 or 2 packs. Seeing your creativity come out
Another pro tip to save money: delete the fence where the stairs are… when you auto place the fence in the entire “room” of the balcony, and then place the stairs, it just makes the fence disappear, but it is there, and if you trace it back with the control key and delete it, it also gives you money 😅❤
