  • If the coax cable to your Winegard Sensar antenna is snaked through the ceiling and walls of your RV and you don't want to have to replace it all then this method will work. This is a quick and easy fix!

Good video. The only advice I would give is to pull the cable through the raiser arm of the antenna before crimping on the connector. This way it will be much easier to pull the cable through the hole without getting caught.

I took the crank off and found a splice just below the antenna unhooked it and the old cable pulled out of the roof. I had to push it some thru the antenna base with a screw driver.

I understand your want of an ez fix but: splices reduce the signal as well as the rest of the cable is rg-59 when rg-6 quad or oct shield cable is way better and more UV resistant

This was a good explanation for the cable replacement, However, my old cable was sheared off below the antenna base by the former owner and now I don't know how to get to it from within the coaches interior! My 2011 Winnebago View doesn't have any data on how that cable is routed and I am afraid to start pulling out the ceiling looking for it IF that isn't necessary. Any suggestions would be most helpful . Thanks, Ed G., Fallbrook, CA

Can you reach the end of the cable where it was sheared off with a pair of needle nose pliers or tweezers? There is usually a little slack inside the ceiling cavity and you might be able to pull enough up to do this fix or at least duck tape a string or new cable to the end and pull it through to the cable outlet spot.

Ed the cable is connected inside the coach to the power amplifier antenna switch. I have a 2009 View. Hopefully you can attach a line to what's left on the roof and pull it thru?

Did that work for you? Did. you have to pull a new wire if so was it easy or a PIA?

I considered replacing my battered old cable but was able to patch it up. However I did conclude that it would be very difficult to pull thru as it's likely stapled and seemed firmly in place. So when it comes time to replace I will simply drill a hole thru the roof into the interior closet which the tv is mounted on and the powered antenna amplifier also and just run a new cable into the closet from the roof above. I will of course have to seal the old hole and around the new.

@@capodad2u after investigating the outside cable was loose on the inside receptacle where the tv plugs into
