There is an arrow on the CT clamp to show the direction of the positive current flow. But if you only get some negative readings and in general it is positive, it is placed correctly. But I cannot explain why you get some negative readings. I can't think of any home appliance that would feed energy back even for a short period. Maybe check the connections to make sure all are OK.
Thank you very much for your video. I have a 3 phase grid supply and my Solar inverter is only 1 phase system ? The main house is connected on Phase2. Can i get the consumption if i use the 3 clamps or should i use the 1 phase + separate solar power diagram?
It depends what you want to see. If you put the 3 clamps on the 3 phase after your meter, you will see if you generate more power than what your houses uses on that phase. It will go negative. On the other 2 phases it will always be positive.

There are a lot small differences for Pro models (like cloud and local connection works at the same time), and most probably how they communicate over MQTT is different.
Hi, can I get consumption per user when I add different users? I am looking for a solution to split the electricity usage bill in a common public area to its users. Can this product do that? If you help me I will be so happy.
If you want that, I suggest that you purchase separate meters for each area. There is a Shelly EM which only measures one phase. You can put them into separate rooms in the Shelly app and it will show consumption per rooms. Shelly 3EM is really designed for 3 phase, and it by default add the consumption up on the 3 phases. But when you export the data to CSV you can separate out the measurements.
@@csongorvargaFirst of all, thank you very much for your feedback. I guess I didn't express my need clearly. Our multi-storey building has a auto parking, and there are common charging sockets and car charging stations in the autopark. Normally, the bill that came as a result of electricity consumption such as lighting in the parking lot was paid jointly by the building. But now electric cars have become commonplace and they need charging. But not every occupant of the building has an electric vehicle, some have more than one electric vehicle. So I'm looking for a way to divide the electricity by the usage amount to the users. Since there are too many flats, occopants it does not seem possible to separate the phases of the building for each flat, to use a measuring device for each and to use a separate electrical outlet for each, both in terms of cost and appearance. Instead, I am looking for a system where the electricity output is active by account and the electricity usage of the each user is measured. For example when an user login system, he can open electric switch then system can add electric usage of him. When he log from system electric will gone.
I have a 3-phase grid supply and my Solar inverter is also for a 3 phase system ? how do you connect shelly EM here, do I buy 2 Shelly 3M's, one for production and one for consumption ?
Just install it behind your main breaker (not after the inverter). In that case it will measure the gross input/output of your house. If it shows generation it means your solar is generating more than what you consume in the house. If it shows consumption your solar is either not running, or you use more electricity than consumed.
@@csongorvarga But this way I wont be able to get how much was my consumption, as it will only measure what the grid is giving us as consumption or what grid is being given back.
@@cyxgoku In this case you probably need 2 Shelly units. One will be connected directly after the inverter. That will measure your production. The second could be tricky: you need to find the cables after the inverter connection that goes to all your circuits in the house. If you can find that you can measure all your consumption there. But for example my inverter in on the second floor inside my house, so I cannot separate out all my consumables. In that case you measure your entire house, and you have to calculate the difference manually in Excel from the CSV export data of the two Shelly.

@@cyxgoku OK, so the question is, what do you want to measure?
@@csongorvarga My Consumption and my production.
Szia!!! Magyar nyelvű videód nincs véletlenül ebben a témában???
Szia, nincsen. Mármint a Shelly 3EM-mel kapcsolatban?
Did you ever figure out how to export the CSV file? (Load profile)
Yes, you need to visit the built in website of the 3EM and you find the download button there.
@@csongorvarga Thanks for the info!
i strangly get - readings, - 2.5KW. instead of plus
Turn the current clamp around.
@@csongorvarga thanks wil do
Hello! Nem lehetne magyarul ?
Mindent lehet, csak nincs annyi időm.
@@csongorvarga Köszi!
I see no fusses in the fase wirers... Looks dangerous.
