    I don't understand why so many people keep comparing this to "Edge of Tomorrow". The only thing those two films had in common was an alien invasion and time travel. Edge of Tomorrow was a limited time loop for one person. The Tomorrow War is about travel between two points in the time stream and fixed distance from each other.

    • @bruno4499

      So you do understand why they keep comparing them.Alien invasion and time travel elements,i would definetly compare one to another.
      Someone saying "If you liked Edge of Tomorrow you would definetly like this one" would not be surprising to hear at all.
      Honestly,if i had to compare it with any other movie it would be Edge of tomorrow,that's the most similar movie to this one out of all movies.

      @@xxJOKeR75xx There was obviously a shortage of soldiers if they had to send people from the past to fight these creatures in the future,sending in these "freshmen" doesn't seem unreasonable when you have no one else available to send.Not to mention it was an emergency situation and they were only sent there because they were the only ones close enough.
      Last time i checked we live on the ground and not in the air like birds.What does it matter who has the air when these creatures are everywhere in overwhelming quantities on the ground?
      It´s actually just 30 years.Were you expecting laser guns and light sabers?
      Pistols were invented in the 16th century and its still our most used weapon in combat since then,we have found better and more efficient ways of using firearms but the concept is the same,bullets coming out of the gun in high speed.
      Ak-47 were invented 70 years ago and people still use it,why wouldn't we be using the same weapons we have today in 30 years?

    Time travel in this movie takes the form of a matter bridge between two separate timelines. In order for causality to work, the bad future would still have to exist. Colonel Muri knowing humanity is done for, used time travel to create another future were humanity stands a chance of fighting back. If getting the toxin from the future changed the "Bad Future" then it wouldn't exist to send soldiers into the past to warn them about the war and time would just play out like it originally did for the "Bad Future/Original Timeline". Dan, wanted to not only save his timelines future but also the Colonel's Future but things got so bad, that it was already too late.

      Yeesh really? I couldn't even finish this film. It was really bad. Also, Pratts acting was about as bad as I have seen bad acting in years. That scene with him talking to his father is when i turned it off. But, just my opinion.

    • @abrimfulofasha
      @abrimfulofasha 2 роки тому

      @@StinkyGreenBud I believe the drug was letting him see every outcome of his life, simultaneously. The clue is when you hear the kid and his future counterpart saying random words throughout the movie, which kind of explains what is happening to him. He basically was "tripping" and tapping into something, to allows him to manipulate time and jump through different realities. He only took the one pill when he was in the janitors basement and from there, that is when things first started with his abilities. From the experience he had, he realised that it wasn't the path that he wanted to take. If he kept "following" the drug, each and every possible outcome of his future will always end up in the same bleak place. That is why he let the love interest go, as she was a drug addict. Also he realised the mouth that kept appearing to him, was his mother's, so he obviously realised she was more important to him and so that is why he changed his path. I believe the entirety of this film, is about drugs and the effects they can have on every aspect in your life and whether or not, you are strong enough to not let them take over your life, even if that means letting go of people you care about.

    The beginning scene showing him losing his temper and hitting the trashcan, and then immediately reverting back to him being goofy was to show that he was hiding feelings of disappointment and anger under his goofy facade that he puts on for everyone. That's why he ends up leaving his family. The daughter says that he just never seemed happy with his life. Things like that can fester and can make people not realize the good things they have in their lives and cause families to fall apart. And I'm sure he was sincere in his desire to keep a good relation with his daughter, but his feelings of self doubt and disappointment probably made him feel the same way his father felt back when he left, that he was doing her a favor by not being around.

    His preventing the alien invasion in the past did not save the future characters we've met from the events of their timeline. The second they stepped foot in the past, the world was immediately moving in a completely different trajectory than the world the future soldiers came from. In their world, no soldiers came from the future with a warning, the aliens just attacked, and our main character was already dead. If changing the past modified how things played out in the future, their going back to the past would've changed the course of the war entirely, as humans now would have had several years to prepare. Instead, the events that took place remain cemented in time. When the daughter told the main character that he had left them, his knowledge of that didn't change the way her life played out. Even if he's there for her in his present, she still lost her father in that future timeline. Instead, a new timeline is playing out parallel to the old one. So when he lost that future version of his daughter, she DID die, regardless of how he changes the past.

    I closed both eyes on all the negative reviews. What matters the most is my parents n both u Sir & Mdm loved it. This is actually a really gd movie. The plot is well-written n they explained alot. 2 similarities between Sir & Mdm n my parents were 1)Mdm has the same reactions like my mom throughout this movie especially when the White Spikes made their 1st appearance n 2)Sir figured out that was the older Muri straightaway like my dad did. I think Mrs Yvonne Strahovski was amazing in this movie. She delivered the emotional part very effectively. Also Norah n the other "Norah's"(😆) death was the saddest. I loved both of them. Didnt expect this upload hence the late comments. But THNK U both so much for this reaction!🙏

    • @AnonEyeMouse
      @AnonEyeMouse 2 роки тому

      Gotta disagree with the well written part. It makes no sense to bring people forward in time, robbing you of those parents and scientists and workers etc that could spend the intervening time preparing for the invasion. The movie claims wiping out the male population isn't enough. Isn't it? If all the males are dissolved, who will the females breed with?
      The film has so many moments where it seems to be preparing a dark twist, yet that never drops. I was not surprised to find out that this was massively rewritten to make jt a 'happy movie rather than the dark predestination paradox it was always intended to be. Its objectively poor, but subjectively? I'm glad some people got some fun out of it. Just wish I'd been one.

      They were drafting people that had relatively little time left to live. So their potential impact on the future was minimal. Those people were helping to buy time for the creation of the toxin. It does have some issues but really not more than most movies.
