Takutai for the win! Hands down the best explanation of the role of the Waitangi Tribunal I've heard any politician give. Take note Willy.
National think they are not borrowing 😂😂😂😂 they are borrowing more than labour.
People keep saying this government was democratly elected, which it wasn't. It was stitched together. We can only say it was democratly elected if the people had an opportunity to vote on the coalition agreement.
Did you say the same thing in 2017?
@ajnz2420 How about 2009 to 2017?
The issue about this coalition is that the three parties have very few common policy points, view on some matters. Often, the parties do not speak like team, and cabinet ministers often indicate they do not fully support cabinet choices or cannot recall clearly choices made it cabinet .
( food in schools: They had a common view to reduce cost, but was it their common view to reduce the nutritional value of food? They wanted to improve the ability of the average reading age but have forced locally elected school boards to adopt the product, but at a local council level, they can manage water best .I.e democracy at the local level is best!)
MMP
Incorrect. The only way it wouldn’t be democratic is if the coalition agreement or other policy came out that wasn’t campaigned on. Like for example the labour oil and gas ban
The new government gave money to landlords. It made this decision quickly.
She said interest cost of the government debt from last government. She forgot 65 billion from 2009 to 2017 ( National/ACT)
Yeap the people will stand together maori and pakeha 🤌💯💯💯
Housing NZ opened 42 two bedroom homes and 42 one bedroom homes in New Plymouth this week. Success of the government from 2017-2023.
They look like the old 2storey block statehouse with a crate like frontage 😅,the rent will be huge
What an AWESOME conversation. I don't know what it was about it but this conversation was done so well- a sad rarity in these times
Julian said there are 33 Maori mps in this government. How many identify as Maori in the census?
😂😂😂 aue e hoa, he whakapapa Māori, ā tēnā he Māori ia ☝🏾😎
This government has no idea what the people of this country will do to protect Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Aotearoa New Zealand's future. Keep this up and they will find out!
It is not only Maori but Pakeha and many more who choose Aotearoa NZ as home who want the treaty and te tiriti Aotearoa NZ is based on to be honoured. We do not want to become a country without respect for indigenous people like Australia. Maori health initiatives are needed because Maori health outcomes are so bad. Maori need fair access and to feel they are part of health and education systems being improved to treat them more fairly. Not what we have now. As a Pakeha i want the call for marchs hikoi to go out not just to Maori but to Pakeha and all who value Aotearoa New Zealand as a kind actually inclusive society, that is trying to give each of us what we need, not treating everyone blindly alike with no thought for how our history and current circumstances already affect us.
@@wordzmyth Well said but then your name says it all. I too am Pakeha and feel exactly the same way. Appreciate your words

The ACT MP is not talking about democracy in connection with fast track bills.
MMP is about forming a parliament. Minority government should happen first. Then issue by issue the minority government must convince the others of their logic.
O.G Jackson. Chur Takuta
The National and ACT MPs would say they vote against the clause of the bill which gives ministers decision authority.
Why should it be select committee rather than royal commission on treaty?
Willie the Green and Maori Party do make some very important points.
Takuta killed this debate
Dana did well to hold her own
Road funding announcement this week. Auckland is a 1/3rd of NZ population but did not get allocated 1/3rd of 3.9 billion. Northland with 2 electorates ( Auckland has 22 electorates) got 114,000 in contrast to Auckland with 400,000.
Spending is not there for all!
Productivity! Given that people are working more hours. Why do people suggest productivity is going down?
14:44 he says ' wai-tang-E' bruh 'wai-ta-ngi '
More money for Maori under the last government lead to better outcomes
...right???
The courts are the place where people came to King to discuss matters. The King delegated this authority to people.
Those who voted for this Govt, voted to keep Maori down, period. Now those fools are finding their vote is keeping them down too.
Really enjoyed listening to this korero. Getting a insight of what is really happening in New Zealand.
This is really hard to listen to the Government trying to cut all fundings for our people.
Our Māori people are well pronounced & direct speakers.
Our tupuna and descendants are originals for thousands of years.
How to come and kill for our lands and everything else is on another level.
Stay strong whanau 😤
Ah, sounds like you're a part of the problem.
@@The_Slippery_Slope_NZ look in the mirror at who is the problem it seems. colonial descendants who still act like that (fascists by definition) are the problem
Yeah and no one voted for TPM. Go figure
They were happy to take the day off work to protest but too lazy to vote for another party

Water quality goes backwards with human activity.
You are missing the point and that is you all have different points of views or ways of governing people or services.
No amount of money can change a persons point of view because it has nothing to do with money.
Money is a service at the end of the day that provides people with the opportunity to define policies in real-time. For example when a person goes to the corner store and orders some milk they are creating a rule for the store person to follow. If you don't have money then the store person will just ignore your rule and not provide your with any milk.
What these panel guests should be discussing is how to transcend or go beyond the current governance pattern and enter into a new one that enables the sharing of policies or rules so that people can "get along" or serve one another at scale. Clearly the money system is a linear or one-to-one mode of governance that can't scale to serve the needs of all participants policies or rules at the same time.
A new form of governance is required that is non-linear or a many-to-many mode of communication. For example, if a person orders some milk, instead of the rule going to a single store it can go to all stores at the same time and each store can cooperate with one another amending or scaling the rule to ensure the milk gets delivered and is the right amount, and packaged appropriately and so on. Its a dynamic real-time rule or request that can be scaled indefinitely.
Clearly the current state of politics requires this type of disruption so that people can "get on" with kaitiaki and stop talking at one another and start talking with one another.
Jai Adi Da!
You're dreaming!!
Looks like willie “the cockroach” jackson wants to join the maori party😂😂
He will want to be high on the list otherwise he will do his sookabuba routine he did with Labour when listed. Trouble is JT calls him wackojacko. Not far wrong.Best thing JT ever said.
What do you expect
If Maori felt that strong zbout getting their lands back, they'd go & stake it, but Maori these days not all, want the already built city lands not the abandoned shit land that requires hard work to clear lol
Those "city lands" - Māori land.
Read the room 😂
These maori are half white. How are these half a million dollar paid half cast not benefiting?
Thank goodness Karen left halfway through. Shes boring to listen to
Karen is a beacon of light.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 a beacon alright but not for light🤡
70 billion $ Maori aconomy & why are Maori still in poverty! & Still blaming the white man Maori been against each other since they arrived to this country on there boats
That 70 billion dollar Maori economy you refer to benefits all of New Zealand stupid.

Takuta, loved every word you said mate! ❤💯💯

It's MMP, every election apart from 2020 is "stitched" together. You can't have a revote because you don't like the result.
The country is called New Zealand
Aotearoa New Zealand* The true formal name...has a much more beautiful ring to it too btw
Here's the world's smallest violin playing just for you 🎻🎻🎻
The British & Every other European power called Maori "New Zealanders" during the nineteen century pakeha only accepted being called New Zealanders at the beginning of the 20th century 🙄
it was aotearoa well before the ship zeeland was even built.
This Whenua is Aotearoa, can't give us a hiding for speaking Maori now😘 Love that it annoys you and you cannot suppress anymore.
