As the father of a 24 year old organ donor I have watched dozens of these. I have to say the mom summed up how I felt for those four days perfectly. They did not have honor walks yet and I remember walking him to the OR and feeling he had one job left on earth and we need to be on time. It took four days to reach that point and I did not want anything to jeopardize the hard work he and the nurses put in getting him ready. Instead of jackets as a kid he traded sneakers and he never traded up. lol My condolences to the family and yes she does have a great smile.

Thank you Chuck for the loving gift you were strong enough to allow to go to others. My son died and unfortunately that became impossible. But I know my Kurt would have been the very first to say "yes Mom, this is my way to leave you something ...and others hope". Our children are so special and while I am sorrowful for your loss I am so very grateful for your strength and for your families support. My heart is with you and his mother and his entire family. chuck i watch them to but i watch honor walks and these sometimes they are incredible i mean it can be kids from babies to kids in there teens not the adults i am talking about the kids they do adults to but it is still hard but not as much as you loose you child or children it has been happening a lot lately kids getting shot everyday you hear that and people wonder why i do not watch the news that little was such a beautiful girl
I have lost two children but there was no chance for organ donation and that has added to my sorrow because I knew both were organ donors. The pain of losing a child is indescribable but these honor walks are so wonderful. As a retired nurse...I cried along with the nurse...knowing what we hold in our hearts for a lifetime.

Sorry for your lost I know exactly how you feel I lost my nephew a month and a half ago he was shot back in November and while in bed asleep it was a drive by and 2 Bullets hit him one paralyzed him from neck down and due to being shot in the neck he had to have a trach which was miserable for him he was only 9 years old due to complications he passed but my sister his mom made the decision to donate his organs and we also did an honor walk for him hardest thing I ever had to do but in the end he saved 3 lives but I missed my nephew something terrible

I lost my best friend Anna at age 15 in a tragic car accident. Her heart was donated, and I cherish every day the fact that her heart is still beating 💓
I remember those powerful words every time I watch an honor walk video. Very true. I’m sorry that you lost your best friend so young. I met my best friend in kindergarten and 40 years later I thank God that I still have her. After hearing about you losing your best friend so young I’ll give mine an extra hug when I see her next week.

What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful, little girl. Hearing her parents talking about her, and how they just knew that this is what she would have chosen to do, it was just so sweet. I love the story about her giving her coats to other kids who were cold. She seems like she was such a giving soul, and she continued to do so as she went to heaven.

a loss that one cannot imagine as an outsider. the worst day of a family can still be the best day of other families thanks to an organ donation. I was registered as an organ donor up until 4 years ago, but after the age of 50 you are off the donor list. if an accident happens to me, at least other seriously ill people should benefit from it.
As a person who has to have a double lung transplant , I think the hardest part is trying to get my head around the person who will hopefully give me lungs and there mum dad siblings and families I often cry thinking about them my heart is broken already for them , if I ever get them lungs I would never be able to put into words how grateful I would be ,,,, this story had me crying uncontrollably for this beautiful precious little girl her mum who adored her so much and I can see her in you , im so sorry for your loss , a sweet angel in heaven and an earth angel in this world , God bless you all xxx

I am glad these 2 parents were both on the same page as it pertained to donating their daughters organs to save others lives. It is a difficult decision that would have to be a hasty decision so that others could benefit.
My 17year old son died ten years ago I was in so much pain when he died, I could never make the decision, but so glad parents like you do xxx

This was the only right decission in this situation. It is every parent's nightmare, but the parents who's child is dying because a child needs a kidney or heart are also living in a never ending nightmare and fear. Thanks God for such people, who, despite of such a terrible and hearbreaking loss, can make such a sane, sobber, good and right dessision. God bless you. Sorry for my far from perfect English. I heard the Father threw her up in the air as he always did but this time he couldn't catch her right and she fell and hit her head. She had a traumatic brain injury.
