Mrs Stoddard is so beautiful and has been acting a long time...she was the mother in the movie Father of the Bride and the sequel with Elizabeth Taylor. I used to watch this with my grandmother when i was 7, it was our show....I miss her alot and think of her every episode i watch
don't know about barnabas, but burke is ok. I don't really like him and vicky though. he's done a lot for her sure, but it came out of no where and has no mmph! behind it
Wow. Actually concern from Roger without any selfishness (maybe)? and roger and burke talking without wanting to kill each other?!?! the world is coming to an end. O_O
Mathew was not cut out to be on the run from the law. He was falling apart from the get go. Living at Collinwood, he didn't seem to be a part of any other community. No friends, and only 1 brother known to police. He probably would have done ok in prison. Big, ugly and mean, he would have fit right in. In Maine, he might have ended up in Shawshank. And being a killer, he might of met Andy before his escape, and bought cigarettes and booze off of Red.
That's true, but she could be a Collins and the reincarnation of Josette. A lot of "Collins History" changes as the show progresses, especially in the early days, because they hadn't yet realized that the past would play a much bigger role than originally expected.
Victoria didn't have a chance to go to the bathroom for a couple of days... Her first move... TO THE POWDER ROOM ... She probably smells a little rank too...
I love it! "They were alone; all alone." (Ominous crack of thunder). Can't you just see the guy with the long metal plates they used to use back then, cracking it over & over. Boy his arms must've been sore! XD
countmeworthy ha- ha... Poor Carolyn...out in the dark....she missed the action that Burke 'saved' Victoria. But she avoided a broken heart.............
WOW!! Yeah. Matthew sure was a REAL psychopath, and ugly creep!! I sleep better these days just knowing he is dead. I also feel much better knowing someone else thinks so too. There are enough wierdos in the world, without him adding to the melee.
Paul Hector lol Burke refereed to Matthew as a slob. Goes to show how great a character actor Thayer David is. In 1795 Ben and Barnabas a great team. And Xander as well. Just to be an actor in those days took great courage. I applaud them all, especially the elegant Joan Bennet, one of the most beautiful and talented actresses ever. Mitchell Ryan has a personal website that shows his art and how he got into acting as a boy in Kentucky. By accident, he stumbled upon the highest level of spiritual enlightenment, that of no self. Google if u have time, that is the best way to be eternally happy and have true peace of mind.
***** thank You for your comment. I have just last night reached the 200 th episode. I just started watching this series about 7 0r 8 weeks ago...I go on DS marathons !! This show is all about the acting, since it it quite "minimal" in all other respects. I have not seen hide nor hair of this Barnabas character. As far a peace of mind goes, the Collins port crew seem to seriously be lacking in that area. Even poor Vicky, who is somewhat "innocent" of any guilt or shame at this point is a troubled soul. Maggie has the "sins of the Father" so to speak to contend with...As soon as they get rid of one problem there is another right behind it...Have you ever heard of the Greek Myth concerning the Argonauts? and the Monster called Hydra ? There is a valuable lesson there...
She'll get hers. My one favorite DS moment is when she catches Barnabas rising out of his coffin and he squints he eyes and asks, "What are you doing here?" and she lets out this huge scream. Pure magic!!

+kenda ellsworth Joan Bennett had a long film career that started in the 1930's. i believe her sister was also a movie actress.
Josette's ghost not only saved Ms. Winters but also the show from being canceled.
And Malloy's ghost & Laura Phoenix Collins
***** before Barnabas
***** So when did Josette go from looking like Victoria to looking like Maggie?
Vicky's hair is so pretty down, wish she would've had it down in more episodes.
Agree, Vickie s' hair down looks great. Too bad Joan Barret cut hers'.
lmp1894 she looks totally different with her hair down.
Nobody ever hangs their coats up. Just throw them on the table.
That's what I do too. : )
Before Barnabas the leading male/hero was Burke Devlin!
I like this Burke better!
Jovonna Holman I like him way better- he had an edge to him and was witty.
That's it! Lol
Thought it was David, he's the one pushing the plots. He does get more screen time. So far Burke is supported protag and main antag I think.
don't know about barnabas, but burke is ok. I don't really like him and vicky though. he's done a lot for her sure, but it came out of no where and has no mmph! behind it
@5:04 I think there should have been brandy's all around even for David(laughter)
Wow. Actually concern from Roger without any selfishness (maybe)? and roger and burke talking without wanting to kill each other?!?! the world is coming to an end. O_O
Yes Vicky she does exsist & u r a Collins & u will never know it😮

Kudos to the presenter of these episodes and member of the cast for her fine work in this episode. The ghostly effects at the end are also well done.
@5:36 Thanks to my charming son, she could have had her head chopped off.(laughter) Roger DOES have a way with words and phrases huh!
Wow. This episode aired the day I was born.
Vicky looks fantastic in that black nightgown!
If Josette were one of Vicki's ancesters, then Vicki wouldn't be a Collins. Josette married into the family.
You're right, I wouldn't have thought of that. Apparently, Elizabeth didn't either!
That's true, but she could be a Collins and the reincarnation of Josette. A lot of "Collins History" changes as the show progresses, especially in the early days, because they hadn't yet realized that the past would play a much bigger role than originally expected.

genEus0002 Just imagine how Matthew smelled! :D
+atlantic 11561 Yeah he looked rank!
Vicky doesn't like to think about a whole lot

Oh Burke, my knight in shining armor!
21:20 So they were wishing us a freakin' Happy Holidays and not Merry Christmas back then?
Matthew was such a creep.Glad he died. Thanks for posting.
aww.... but he will 'resurrect' again as a different character! hee hee hee
...also Roger with his brandy....the rest of the Collins and their coffee.
countmeworthy
ha- ha... Poor Carolyn...out in the dark....she missed the action that Burke 'saved' Victoria. But she avoided a broken heart.............

That DARN Mrs. Johnson. They should take HER to the old house(smile)She was just itching for another death.
She'll get hers. My one favorite DS moment is when she catches Barnabas rising out of his coffin and he squints he eyes and asks, "What are you doing here?" and she lets out this huge scream. Pure magic!!
Who was Liz's great-Aunt? Judith? And FYI Vicki, Josette's portrait looks more like Maggie. Just saying. :)
I love Burke 'do you want me to carry you?' Sigh.
they should have named collinsport lighting ridge hahaha never seen that much rain and lighting in my life in one place before lol
More pill popping. "Mother's Little Helpers". LOL.
They should have made Mathew's hair turn white from fright....nah that would have been to far fetched.
She is soaking wet because she was not allowed to use the restroom for how many days? Oh...and that smell...
Mathew was ok he was the family rottweiler lol
