Patient Testimonial | Cochlear Implant on a 7 Year Old Kid | BHII

7 year old child Monika came to Dr. Sampath Chandra Prasad Rao at Bangalore Head and Neck Sciences, Bangalore with evidence of deafness in both the ears. She was examined at BHNS and underwent tests and scans which revealed that she had Bilateral Sensorineural Hearing Loss.
The parents were counselled for Cochlear Implantation which would bring back hearing to the child. The surgery was done successfully and the child was implanted with a top tier Cochlear Implant. The switch-on for the implant was done one month after surgery and the child was elated to hear sound for the first time.
