Reducing a person to their sexual value, to a sex object: So true. Have to know and love the whole person, the personality, the mind, the heart. This takes time. The only thing that makes sense to me is form a friendship first before moving into sex.
How about those who become parents in their early 20s ? Got Married after their kid is born and still living happily with each other? Is it sexual desire or lust?
@@Grokford Indeed "lust" is nothing more than sexual desire. Both single and married people have it, and there is nothing wrong with single people enjoying sex before marriage. "Lust" is not bad or dirty, it's just a universal aspect of being human.

No, it's not wrong to want pleasure. God placed that desire in you, for what is good, true, and beautiful. Lust is when we take our desires, though, and place them above the good of the other. Lust is selfish. I recalled a newsgroup question by a man whose wife had no interest in sex, but made herself available to him because she loved him. He wanted her to want him. At that time, my wife had a phobia about sex, (my psychiatrist said "Not another one!" ) so I told him to be grateful for what he was getting. I said "If you want her to lust for you,..." Perfect answer from Fr. Mike of a question that is hardly ever answered, and needs to be answered more than most questions.
The distinction is arbitrary, redefining terms is not helpful. We need to recontextualize the meaning of lust in general.
So in short, lust is sexual attraction for a person with no regard for their wellbeing or what's important to them. Does that sum it up?
How about those who become parents in their early 20s ? Got Married after their kid is born and still living happily with each other? Is it sexual desire or lust?
Sexual desire
If you’re married it’s allowed
I don't know, ask them. Are they in it for what they can give or what they can get?
The distinction is imaginary.
Lust just sounds scarier.
