Laguna Seca always had strict noise regs, look up on google the way people run their exhausts tilted 90 degrees away from the car in order to pass noise inspection
Canadian Tire Mosports park is relatively near him. It's a good track and no noise restrictions as far as I know, so there are many options in warmer parts of the year. Even Watkins Glen is relatively reasonable.

it's measured at 20 meters, so it isnt that bad, sound will die off in that distance. and there is often trackdays out there for "louder" groups at "108db" which is pretty standard at most racetracks. The track is only allowed something something low number loud days a year, including large sponsor and whatnot events like IMSA, the Rolex, ect. And the rest are all limited to the lower db reading. @Lucas Van Hamburg you have misunderstood my comment, I shall clarify: You are a "student of knowledge" and NOT a "keyboard engineer", we are both inspired to learn and I'm also doing stuff now in preparation for my own build. Have you heard of the phrase 'keyboard warrior' that is used to describe people who are very negative and critical of people online? Previous there have been people questioning this man's ideas sitting behind a computer, saying his ideas are wrong, it wont work, thats not correct etc etc BUT clearly this man's knowledge and experience is sound showing that his ideas actually work in real life, NOT like the negative and very critical "keyboard engineers/warriors" who talk crap and not show their arguement in practice, unlike this man! So being a 'student of knowledge' to gain automotive engineering knowledge and know how is NOT a bad thing at all, I encourage it as I'm leaning the same and many people are. People following this build are people with serious interest. But a "keyboard engineer" as I explained, I don't agree with. If they have something to criticise then suggest an improvement, show the argument or bring a solution, don't leave it with negativity and word it like a question not a statement etc, you get me? Hope that makes sense. Really excited you want to learn and one day do something, I would love to hear your ideas. Take care man ^_^
@Lucas Van Hamburg oh wow I love that idea!!! In fact the project I'm currently working towards is of a similar idea. Im taking a Honda Civic Type R engine K20 (or a cheaper R18 engine that I currently boosted in my daily car to 310bhp, Civic FD1), plan is to compound turbocharger setup (2 turbos, 1 small and 1 large) Then create the subframe and almost like a cage around the engine where the swing arms will attach and suspension. That unit will be welded into the back of a Honda Jazz MK1 which has a decent but not so tiny wheel base, fuel tank is placed in the middle between the driver and passenger (from factory) so good weight distribution and the chassis is already race car ready with dual layerd floor from factory which adds stiffness that lot of people overlook because it look so innocent and slow family car, but they'd why it'll be so fun and such a suprise. Plus it'll be stripped out and with plexiglass windows for weight reduction etc Depending on which engine power will be between 310bhp or 450bhp in a car weight high 800 ISH kg or less. While I build this subframe/engine cage for this mid engine setup and gain experience. I am simultaneously also looking to create a front section with suspension and cooling and then the driver cockpit area for a full scratch build race car like this video and bolt all 3 sections together. haha what you think?
@Lucas Van Hamburg I will most definitely video document this and make sure to let you know about it and appreciate the suggestion for engines. However I've been messing with honda for years and luckily have never had an issue, also need to consider physical weight of the engine and supporting mods from the aftermarket both internal and tuning solutions makes it easy to stick with Honda engines (at least for now) I'd love a V8 tho, that would be insane! I will be tearing down my friends Civic Type R this weekend to plan out the wiring harness and ECU. All the best man ^o^

2gs is crazy!! Better have proper safety gear as you turn up the volume on this beast of a car. What's crazy is that you were in 4th gear just taking it easy 😂. Awesome job bro keep it coming
laguna seca was an old volcano. You can make your own exhaust muffler. make 2 holes on 2 pipes side by side and weld then, the holes must face each other.
So if your car has such a high power to weight ration perhaps you could sacrifice a little power and get the exhaust a little quieter you could keep the stewards happy and still have a very fast car. Laguna Seca incredible altitude changes, blind corners it sounds a little like Mt. Panorama here in Bathurst NSW Australia, a track most Australian drivers probably dreamed of when they were young too. Also what I think is truly amazing is your ability to plan, design and build a car so well that it is performing this well before you have even finished it, to me that shows just how much you know what you are doing.
Man crasy how much work you put into that project. Respect for all your passion and letting us follow this journey! All the best for the rest of the project.

He’s at 93 dB while barely driving the car and barely maintaining speed. I haven’t seen any of his other videos yet, but why not just have half way proper mufflers? Anything you loose in terms of power will be gained back in not having to idle up a hill.
Look at that amazing scenery man ! Amazing video I'm going to work in sales lol :) . R1 are not like say an RA1 which you can run into the ground even after heat cycle after heat cycle. R1 can get hard just sitting for a couple of years in your garage or basement and they will act just like how it looks on the video. You can see how hard the tire is just by looking at them at 12:34 in the pits. The thermal temp is that on track or in the pits? It says only 30C the tire appears to not be making any heat at all. See if anyone there has traction treatment to soften the tires up I think it is called vht trackbite or formulav tire treatment I forgot exactly.
Congrats on getting a good taste on what your car can do. I'm sure it really gets you amped up to see what it will do with a aero setup. Looking forward to see it all and I really appreciate the thoroughness of all the steps you've taken to get here
Amazed to see the car drives so well straight from build to the track, without much suspension tuning and no weak parts. Though, it looks like the aero is not working well on the back side. Maybe u can try putting pressure sensors (air/loadcell) on the floor/diffuser to understand which part is not working. Great build, great car, love your videos
The lack of rear bodywork will be causing lift. Also, the car is designed to have a rear wing. When the intended bodywork is made, there will be some extra front downforce, removal of lift from the rear bodywork, and real downforce from the wing. I'm sure he will make those parts very soon.
@@paulstandeven8572 I agree the lack of bodywork might cause lift in the back but the floor/diffuser should generate quite a lot of rear downforce, so Im surprised to see lift on the back-end
Nir Tal diffusers need to be larger to generate a ton of DF and a wing will still be more effective. The issue here is likely aero balance as it makes too much front DF and not enough rear
This is impressive. Not just in the chassis, but in your decision to use an "orphan" engine. Most people building a car like this would have gone for the obvious choices - Chevy LS, Ford Coyote, Toyota 2JZ, Acura Integra, etc. - but you picked something not at all standard. In that, as well as in its appearance, it reminds me of Max Balchowsky's Old Yaller - a home-built sports/racing car from the Fifties, which used a Buick "nailhead" engine.
As a 6 year old playing GT2 racing a Viper around Laguna Seca the corkscrew used to piss me off so much. Now I love seeing any car go through it, it could be a Versa and I'd still smile.
Could you fit some cheap "cherry bomb" mufflers to get the sound down enough? Supporting the end would be the hard part, especially when you make more body panels.
congrats man!, im a long time subscriber and im constantly thinking: "why hasnt this channel blown up yet", your content is so good! Once the hoonigan video is up, you're gonna see that sub counter go up! Peace from Belgium.
I seems that our governments have decided that they hate race tracks, well at least where I am. The zoning of high density residential areas right next door to tracks seems to be their way to get rid of them. It's happened to 3 motocross tracks and a road circuit over the last 10 years, all with in 2 hours of where it live. The kick in the teeth comes when the same officials come out saying people should take their cars to race tracks if they want to drive fast. An interesting build, keep up the great work.
I think the sound limits are terrible, but I'm pretty sure if the city catches high levels the race track will get fined. That's why they're so strict about it. Road Atlanta has the same issue.
If the center of the tread width is too hot it is over inflated the tires crowning....the opposite is true for under inflation..... using the camera is an awesome tool to use for chassis adjustments it would be interesting to see how they look when driving.......great project and I can appreciate all your very hard work......from Wyoming USA 🔫🤠
Lowveld Design if you don’t like racing noise, why did you build next to a race track. Since when did one entitled cry baby have the right to dictate to everyone else. If you don’t like it........MOVE AWAY! You won’t be missed.
Get a much larger piece of pipe about two foot long and put a large hole in the middle and mount it so the exhaust tip is just in the large hole. It will not only deflect the noise but attenuate it like a gun silencer. The Venturi effect should improve scavenging from the turbo dump pipe too.
Given that quite a few race tracks have 'noise limits' then it might be a good idea to make something that you can fit on to the exhaust to make it quieter, or if possible run the exhaust to the back of the car and create a blown diffuser (F1 cars used them). Looks great, can't wait to see it finished.
if noise were ever to become an issue keeping you from fun you could probably make some super compact mufflers from Vibrant Performance reducers. Perhaps one or two of their 5" race mufflers could help. Car looks awesome!! 1.7g sure proves you did a great job on your suspension geometry!
The sound limit reminds me of 2008 when our shopfitting factory was being rebuilt after the 2006 Buncefield Oil Storage Depot explosion nearby on an industrial site in England. The area was reclassified as a 'Business Park' or somesuch corporate bullsh!t and new offices were built next door over the fence where another factory had been demolished. Our electrician was up a ladder outside connecting the dust extraction fan motor and one of the new neighbours asked him what he was doing. He said that he was wiring up the extraction system and the guy over the fence said, "Oh no you are NOT!" and we had to get the Director to calm him down. They ended up taking another week to turn the newly installed extraction unit 180 degrees to face the other way and build a soundproof housing for it. Our company had been there for over 30 years.
a couple of tips for you bro 1) front camber settings, the inside of the tire should always be slightly hotter and middle & outside as even as posible. 2) try to develop the rear grip as much as posible before you add the aero. it's not a good idea to hide rear grip deficiencies by just adding a huge wing, work on the mecanical grip as much as you can (shocks, springs, swaybar, bump, rebound, even geometry if possible) Good job man, nice to see a project come to life
Congrats, incredible build and results. Radical would be tough competition should you make this a production vehicle, however, if you can market it for significantly less then it would sell like hotcakes. All the best!
Laguna pipes! That's awesome. 😂 I have really enjoyed these videos. You have a strong sense of what you are doing and yet it's real life with all its silliness. 😁✌
You should look at Spintech mufflers. I'm fairly certain they make mufflers for very short exhausts like yours. I hate the Sound Regulations as well they have at any tracks, especially near me. Awesome build dude. Please mention well in advance if you ever make your way to Gingerman Raceway in Michigan. Would love to see the car in person. I think Gingerman Doesn't have a sound limit.
I mean yeah, sure its annoying that they built houses close to the track and started making demands BUT how hard is it for you to put on straight-through mufflers? It is what it is and a pair of inexpensive non-restrictive mufflers would've made a big difference and your experience better. :)
Your project is just awesome and unique on youtube. Thumbs up. Am already saving for a merc 55 engine in any model. Am a merc guy but only the diesels but my dream is to own an e55 w211 or w163. I need more overtime with my peanut wages

Noise limit? That's absolutely ridiculous. Great content though keep it up man.
elem arha fookin commies
elem arha There are noise restrictions everywhere cuz people build their fucking houses near racetracks and then complain about the noise. Ffs
@elem arha Actually, you can find noise limits in most race tracks of the world.
Is not a Californian exclusive.
Ahh right on man! I live somewhat near this track and have been multiple times!! Definitely a fun track and someday hoping to race it one day
Incredible to see it come to life in such a short time. Congrats! Hope to see you at a track day sometime soon!
Amazing video. You, Sir, are the man!
Exciting future for this car, I love every video.Very inspiring what you have done in your garage.
The fact that only a couple thousand of us know how great this guy is. I often think I'm smart as shit but this guy fking genius!
You are my hero dude! Mad props to you!!!! Amazing accomplishment!
You gotta go back with bodywork and rear wing and also a laguna seca pipe =) Dream come true! Good job!
Great car. Can’t wait to see more videos on it.
Great video!!! Can’t wait to see more track days.
Road Atlanta has the same issue.
idk about you guys but living next to a race track sounds like a blessing to me
Well at least you got to enjoy it after all that work! I'm glad for you!
You sir, you are my hero.some day i will leave my job and be like you. Respect
Wow! Great performance! Congrats!
22:40. He went to the hoonigan garage!
Looking forward to your next track day without noise limits and full downforce!
I walked Laguna Seca during Army training in 1971. I fantasized riding my motorcycle on it.
1 dislike from local race track resident
Lowveld Design if you don’t like racing noise, why did you build next to a race track. Since when did one entitled cry baby have the right to dictate to everyone else. If you don’t like it........MOVE AWAY! You won’t be missed.
Why the fuck did you build a house there then. If you knew it was there.
Proud of you bro! Keep it!
Get a much larger piece of pipe about two foot long and put a large hole in the middle and mount it so the exhaust tip is just in the large hole. It will not only deflect the noise but attenuate it like a gun silencer. The Venturi effect should improve scavenging from the turbo dump pipe too.
So cool, one of the best channels on UA-cam. Get a couple of free flow mufflers!
Given that quite a few race tracks have 'noise limits' then it might be a good idea to make something that you can fit on to the exhaust to make it quieter, or if possible run the exhaust to the back of the car and create a blown diffuser (F1 cars used them).
Looks great, can't wait to see it finished.
If you can come over 6/21/2020 to Laguna Seca with Speed SF it is 105db day . Amazing work on this project , really amazing .
if noise were ever to become an issue keeping you from fun you could probably make some super compact mufflers from Vibrant Performance reducers. Perhaps one or two of their 5" race mufflers could help. Car looks awesome!! 1.7g sure proves you did a great job on your suspension geometry!
Congratulations!
Great video and a big salute from Sweden.
Congratulations
Great project car! You inspired me and I bought an E55 AMG engine so I must return to your old videos to see what to do next 😀
such a cool project with a limitless amount of potential!
a couple of tips for you bro
1) front camber settings, the inside of the tire should always be slightly hotter and middle & outside as even as posible.
2) try to develop the rear grip as much as posible before you add the aero. it's not a good idea to hide rear grip deficiencies by just adding a huge wing, work on the mecanical grip as much as you can (shocks, springs, swaybar, bump, rebound, even geometry if possible)
Good job man, nice to see a project come to life
Congrats, incredible build and results. Radical would be tough competition should you make this a production vehicle, however, if you can market it for significantly less then it would sell like hotcakes. All the best!
can't wait to see what it looks like when it is finished.
Looks like a great fun
Rear dashes and WING is a must at that speed.
great
Laguna pipes! That's awesome. 😂 I have really enjoyed these videos. You have a strong sense of what you are doing and yet it's real life with all its silliness. 😁✌
Nice carr, I'm absolutely amazed you even made 93db with no silencers
You're like a legend man
Awesome but yes noise regulations are crap. Great work as usual
This is so cool, i love your channel and so happy for you!
The heat of the sun make’s your plastic wrap bubble
You should look at Spintech mufflers. I'm fairly certain they make mufflers for very short exhausts like yours. I hate the Sound Regulations as well they have at any tracks, especially near me. Awesome build dude. Please mention well in advance if you ever make your way to Gingerman Raceway in Michigan. Would love to see the car in person. I think Gingerman Doesn't have a sound limit.
Best yet. Thank you.
Congratulations ,,,great job,,,great to see it on a dry track,,,
Maybe extend the exhaust pipes out and towards the rear ,,,
Noise my arse, what about when they host the 60s and 70s CAN-AM monsters here. For the Rolex classic 👍👍👍😂😂
if you ask for a sound check, you wont get black flagged but you have to come back in to find out what you were at
lift going up the hill. That's where the meter is
I mean yeah, sure its annoying that they built houses close to the track and started making demands BUT how hard is it for you to put on straight-through mufflers? It is what it is and a pair of inexpensive non-restrictive mufflers would've made a big difference and your experience better. :)
its a great car man.
Your project is just awesome and unique on youtube. Thumbs up. Am already saving for a merc 55 engine in any model. Am a merc guy but only the diesels but my dream is to own an e55 w211 or w163. I need more overtime with my peanut wages
