  • @benevolmind

    What folks are failing to realize, this is 100% proof he has ghost writers! These are verses that he did not know existed already, his ghost writers understood their assignment from the gate, get paid for writing verses that they did not write. Drake rapped these bars under the impression HE was saying brand new unheard of bars that his writers got paid for! That's why HE himself was surprised every time someone was able to pull up an original he wasn't aware existed! His ghostwriters get away with the payment because to raise hell about a refund would expose that he uses ghostwriters! Nobody in the history of rap paying homage ever used BAR for Bar, it is always a revised version with hints of the original quote, but Drake recites word for word because it was written for him and he didn't know who the original artist were!

    • @benevolmind

      @@JohnNunez-vf8eh Yes I am saying, he was not listening to "Players Club" by Rappin 4-Tay in 1993, Yes I am saying he was not listening to "Mac Dre", Yes I am saying he was not listening to "Too Short" Yes I am saying, he did not grow up listening to most of these artist. Do you know how many people had no idea who E-40 was until he signed to Lil John, Yes i'm saying he was NOT listening to "Here I Go" by Mystikal growing up! He may have been listening to the Mainstream Artist of those Eras like Jay-z or Nas or Biggie or Wu-Tang or Nelly but outside of that, No, he was not, so if I were to Ghostwrite for Drake I could give him an old C-Bo verse or Mac Mall verse or Young Bleed verse and he wouldn't have any idea, and neither would his target audience who also does not know these artist!
      He IS from Canada, he may have heard some artist and a few prominent ones but before UA-cam and Myspace, you had to be heavily in tune with Murder Dog magazine, XXL and the Source to find out about artist in different regions, if you weren't introduced to the artist thru friends and family from that region! So with that being a factor, you don't see how someone could sell him verses from artist that he didn't grow up listening to? And if these verses are coming from underground artist, how long do you think Drake could get away with saying an unheard verse by folks who only listen to radio rap and not underground rap?
      But yeah, that's MY opinion, idc what your is, didn't ask! There is nothing to debate if you don't understand this perspective!

      @@JohnNunez-vf8eh And Music is definitely MY thing, sir. I am definitely a member of the culture of Hip-Hop and RAP ever since 1981 and my first viewing of Krush Groove at 3 years old in 1984. Hip-Hop and Rap is my choice of sport entertainment like Football and Basketball is for others! Who was the first Rapper to knock an RnB chick? Mac-10 married T-Boz, the reason Cash Money became Bloods, Mac-10 (Bang or Ball Album), to House Party (all 3) and up til now, in 42 years of living, I have never took a break from the culture of Hip Hop Music, which is why I can tell you when certain artist came out and what effect they had on the culture. I did not become a fan of hip-hop and I did not have to do "Rap Catch Up Research to understand when a person is a "Biter" I been here since "Can't Live without My Radio" (LL Cool J) to "PanHandle' (Bris) and Everything in between! When Common was Common Sense and Twista was Tung Twista. So eat a D*** because he definitely was getting scammed by his ghostwriters into reciting verses he didn't know already existed from artist from all kind of different regions, mark!
      And understand this please, real members of the culture aren't primarily fans of Radio Rap or Mainstream Rap, most hip-hop natives listen to Underground or Local Artist of their respective Regions that do NOT get radio play. True members of the culture listen to full albums of an artist because they truly listen to the art of rap 24/7/365 where as radio rap fans only know and listen to the HITS by popular Radio Mainstream Artist when their working out or putting on a hip-hop front for others as if they are fully imbedded into hip-hop because they know all the POPULAR RAP SONGS AND DANCES (from Tik Tok)
      I promise you that there are no artist in the underground scenes anywhere who RAP like Drake or Lil Baby, the artist you are able to think of who do, are artist who trying to get Mainstream success, because the streets only listen to Grimey. Mind you Radio is clean version music the streets is raw and uncut, it's because of UA-cam that you are getting Radio songs with profanity.

Everytime I see another thing like this, those lyrics come back like, Kendrick made it so that no one can ignore this dude's misdeeds because of the catchy lyrics and intonations and inflections of his voice with his flow. Drake is done lol. I dunno if Nike wants to be associated with a song thief LOL.

Jay Z bites biggie every song and doesn't credit him so is that homage? Drake references popular songs 99% of the time and it's obviously homage like TI and Eminem on Rich flex and Chicago freestyle. It's stealing when its drake, but homage when any other artist does it. kendrick lamar has used other rappers lyrics in 10+ songs so does that mean he steals? It's literally just homage get over it

    I haven't watched the video yet. My prediction is, most of this is gonna be a bunch of clips of Drake paying homage to lyrics of OGs like when he quoted Superman by Eminem. If that is the case then this video is dishonest.
    But I could be wrong, and if that is the case, then fuck Drake, that's a really fucking shitty thing to do
    Edit: the only particularly damning thing is the Quentin Miller reference tracks, but that's not new info to anyone...

    • @watchmyvids4012
      @watchmyvids4012 29 днів тому

      Paying homage? Over 20 times?! lol stop it he’s obviously stealing. He’s also stolen sound cloud rappers songs and flow delivery’s. He stole xxx flow with out permission. He even steals hand movements from lil peep

    • @grantmaybe
      @grantmaybe 29 днів тому +1

      @@watchmyvids4012 well the Quentin Miller tracks aren't that, Quentin Miller gave him those bars, that was his choice. So that's less than 20, at least in the video.
      I assume by sound cloud rappers songs you mean DRAM's Cha Cha / Hotline bling? I haven't really heard of any other examples of that, and if there was this legion of sound cloud rappers shouldn't they be in the video)/ I didn't hear any stolen lyrics in the song if you want to say they were too similar then fine, but that is up for debate.
      Flows and deliveries are not owned by the rappers that first used them. If they were, then every rapper has been stealing from Soulja boy for a long time, because he pioneered like half of the flows in existence back when he was putting out like a million (mostly garbage) songs a day. Drake using a similar flow to xxx on a song two years after his look at me debuted is not stealing, that's appropriation, and nothing is entirely creative, it's impossible, brains don't work like that. all art requires both some level of creativity and some level appropriation. A "flow" is not enough.
      But I will say that borrowing even small elements (like flow) from undiscovered artists is worse than citing an OG. I do not really care that much about quoting an OG, especially if the reference is obvious, like with Eminem's superman, unless they come out and say they don't like it or something 🤷 but to each his own.
      Like if Drake was actually trolling soundcloud all day for suckers to rip off I'm not gonna defend that exploitative behavior. I do think it's a lil wild to treat all of these wildly different instances as the same thing: stealing, when they differ so much on the merits.
