Hi m8..well done to have ran the Deception..done it a few times..never easy!!!beautiful fish .be good to see what you pull out of that stream with abit more exploring..been getting some good kingies up to 19kg .and snapper to 8kg ..no luck with the fly gear yet tho ..all best for new year..cheers
@Shaneg_ch thanks Shane, I was out in the salty stuff a few weeks ago, snapper, cod and gurnard off the kayak. Up the sounds. All the best back at you too mate
Good on ya Mark. I know the feeling of a sore body but at least you haven't torn anything like some bloke I know 😅 But fair enough on the roadside mish in that case and looked to be worth it with some solid but clean looking brownies to the net
@HighcountryFlylife thanks Tristan, I hope your on the mend mate, was nice to find some "good brown good browns", that golden flanked fish was just epic.
@waitaki_fly thanks paul, I did enjoy the run, was not what I was expecting tho......I just had a reasonable day with a bit of dry fly action so the next one will be a bit longer
as a novice (13 years) fly fisherman, it would be great if you could say what flies or nymphs you have used, just as guideline, as it is something I still struggle with!
@martinbosley9910 Hi Martin, I just tie up my own, don't do the shop bought/tied specifically named nymphs n flies, I just use basic black brown or grey nymphs and mix up the sizes, look under the river/stream rocks for an idea of which may work best, to this day I've never seen a nymph which is bright pink or red
Good work what stream is this
