  • Here is a quick look at the Honeywell Hawker 800XP cockpit. There are plenty of older versions of the Hawker, but this is the only non-Collins Hawker in our fleet. I hope you learn a little something, and most of all, I hope you enjoy!

The Hawker 800 is a mid-size twinjet corporate aircraft. It is a development of the British Aerospace 125, and was assembled by Hawker Beechcraft. Here is a quick look at the Honeywell Hawker 800XP cockpit. Old school cockpits are the best. Just...wow!

I love the "old school" way of covering up the aircraft ident. None of the fancy post processing blurring out, just a couple of torn off pieces of paper.

800 Hawker is good stuff, much improved over the noisy cockpit of the 700. Good memories.

Hi Shawn. I have really become a fan of the hawker. Love the climb performance of the airplane. There was a video where ATC requested the best possible rate of climb to 230 , right after take off. Very Impressive performance, and ATC even acknowledged it. I will always remember that. Anyway, thanks for another great tech tuesday vid. Take Care.

Nice. I learned on and flew the old 6 pac. No moving map, no map period. All steam gauges. The only led was frequency readouts. Its all I have ever flown. I wouldn't know how to fly this or any other airplane without a gazillion gauges, switches and knobs. Maybe someday I'll get to fly a modern glass cockpit. Might be fun, or might be scary. Especially for everyone else in the jet with me. Lol. It would be an adventure for sure. Thanks and be safe!

I fly a 750 with Collins ProLinen 21. I think the plane is a 2008. Its in immaculate condition. Overall, the cockpit is a fantastic layout and a very nice place to work. I'm 6'3" so I wish it was a bit larger, but hey...can't have it all. There are VERY few things that I don't like about the jet. I wish it had a hot wing and limited pedal NWS in addition to the tiller. Its quiet and fast enough. More power of course would be cool along with a larger Wx Radar display. hahahahahahah

Just because a pilot is type rated in a certain aircraft doesn't necessarily mean that they can jump into any aircraft and fly. They almost need to be type rated on the avionics system too. How does a big 135 operation track all that?

I flew 737 with no glass at all...this isn’t old school. The honeywell system in this 800 actually allows you to pick a point in space on the MFD and insert that point to the FMS. It makes tracking around weather seamless.

Hey Sean, kind of prefer new school even though I don’t fly. Never did like steam gauges is too much. On another note, why is it important not to mention or show the N number of the aircraft? I don’t think that has anything to do with advertising or anything it’s just a number. Am I under thinking this too much.

Why did your company decide to buy or lease such an aircraft with ‘almost’ out of date ‘steam gauges’ (your description) for use in your business ? It doesn’t instill confidence that your company is utilizing the latest or greatest equipment for the safest transportation when the ‘shtf’,,,, not trying to be critical, but I wouldn’t want to charter such an aircraft,,,
