- The Grand Canyon Rim to Rim hike via Bright Angel Trail stretches 24.6 miles. We started on the North Rim around 3:30AM and made it to the South Rim around 3:00PM. Along the route we stopped at Phantom Ranch for some lunch. Highly recommended hike.

I picked up this camera two weeks ago, and I'm actually heading to the Grand Canyon on Monday with it. Any tips for what settings worked well for you? Footage looks great.
It’s a beast! Hardest thing for me when filming was making sure my shutter speeds were staying around the 125-250 range, just needed an ND filter and that did the trick. It was tough in the early scenes where there was such minimal light, and then later when the sun was at its peak. That sun is bright so just beware, maybe use a lens hood haha
Great job guys, and smart play dropping in at 0330hrs. Props to your dad for hammering out and R2R! Excellent work with the filming and editing. I was there last weekend, to run the Rim2River route again. May is a great time to be in the Canyon. I'll be back to run your route, mid-Aug.

Wow! That’s impressive. Do you have an estimate for how long it will take you?
Also what’s the temperature like?
@@Zacharytm Mid-Aug is just on the heels of their monsoon season, so overnight on the NR, temps will be in the low 50's, and about 75ish at Phantom when I arrive. They'll hold that temp due to altitude during the run to the top. I typically do it in about 5hrs of run time.
Thats not too bad! I was thinking that time of year it would be well over 100, but sounds like its a great time to go. Thats very impressive for the elevation gain/fall. Cheers man, have fun out there!
@@Zacharytm Mid-day temps in all of June/July/Aug/Sept are always going to be at or over 100*F at Phantom, but in the early morning it's quite a bit lower, and I don't linger.
