I still have the one I bought back in 1977. I used it to figure out guitar riffs and as a playback device in my old VW bug as it was 6VDC and I rigged up external power and speaker plugs in the glove box so I could easily remove it when not driving. The drive belt had to be replaced a few years into ownership and when talking to the Tech who actually did the repairs for me, my interest was peaked in that field. I went to a Technical school for a formal education in Electronics Technology and eventually ended up working as a Bench Tech repairing consumer and professional audio and video equipment. Later I got into the computer field then ultimately Telecommunications. Since it was literally the beginning of that whole story I kept it and still have to to this day. It works fine and if I ever need the drive belt replaced I can do it myself now!
This Aiwa Cassette Recorder has influenced your entire career, the amazing life story told from your youth until now.Thank you for watching my video content.
Does anyone know if the headphone jack is a mono or stereo output? I tried using headphones with stereo input and signal comes through left ear only. When I use a mono converter pin then the mono channel sends it to both ears, so I assuming it's only mono out?
When the model code is TP or TR, all Aiwa products are mono with Mono recording and the same output, but there is a jack adapter from stereo to mono and vice versa so that you have equal sound in both headphones.

I have one in minty condition- it has a small headphone or mic pouch on the strap also
In the 70s, this was the voice recorder of journalists and reporters.
