Anyway back to recording machines, that mechanism is nice and solid and would make a good audio deck if the head bias is correct. " Techmoan " may be interested as he features all sorts of audio stuff. Message machines were a strange thing at first often I would hear breathing and background noise as they were waiting for the tone. I would make a message tape is such a way that callers thought I was on the line eventually I made a message saying I no longer collect messages please send a fax or call my private number which did not exist. The belt needs to be replaced and it works. When Watson was made in Japan they tried to cram all the electronics into a small space.
