I received a converter plug today with this Tamiya connector flipped so that the polarity was wrong and I needed to flip the cables around. Thank you for this video. Based upon your input in this video, I took a BIC pen ink cartridge and twirled an X-acto knife in the end of the cartridge to reduce the wall thickness. It then fit where you used these metal tubes and with a little wiggling, the cables came out and I was able to swap them around.
Awesome hack within a hack Jon. Love the improvisation with the pen tube. I tried that first but without the modifications to the wall thickness it didn’t work! Nice work!
Thanks Nic. Yes, on modern toys but this was specifically for one in my vintage collection, It is connected to a mechanical speed controller and a vintage 7.2 Ni-Cd hump pack.

Awesome hack
Cheers, there’s probably a proper tool for it. It was puzzling me for a couple of days how to get the wires out.
Jason, thank you for that hack... have you considered using a real plug like a xt-60?
