  • In this video, we'll explore a few different options for tracking stage changes in Salesforce opportunities. We'll start with the easiest way, which is enabling field tracking for the Stage field on the Opportunity object. But what if you need to analyze tens of thousands of records and calculate the time to close or average time in a particular stage? For that, we need to build a custom solution using Flows.
Join us as we walk through creating fields to track the date an opportunity moves into each stage, and the length of time spent in each stage. We'll also show you how to add these fields to a new section on the page layout, so you can quickly view the data for each opportunity. Then we'll dive into building a Flow to populate these fields automatically and demonstrate how to use it by changing the stage of an opportunity.
Finally, we'll wrap up with a demo report on average days spent in each stage, giving you valuable insights into your sales pipeline. Don't forget to like this video if you find this information helpful, and consider subscribing to our channel for more Salesforce tips and tricks!

How do you track S0 if it has not moved to S1? For example an Opportunity is stuck in proposal or quote. Unless it has not moved it isn't counting that correct? For example, if a stage is stuck in proposal or in any stage that isn't moving, every day it adds 1 more day to the day count without needing the subtraction formula.

Is it possible to account for hours instead of days?

Sure! You could use a date/time fields and then do your formula based on hours instead.
