I wish these unit studies were more affordable but it's alot when you have one child.
Hi, I am not Christian. Are there Christian teachings throughout the entire curriculum? Would I just be able to take out the copywork and Bible verses or is it throughout?

The flip throughs are keeping me going until the sale in late summer! It is so helpful to see laid out. I am a newbie. I'd ignored God's call 2 years but recently distance learning helped me see I really can do this and GR being so stramlined is a blessing. Thank you for sharing!

Do you think that the Teachers guide is a must have?? I only ordered the 2 for my Kindergartener and 2nd grader
YES! For a Gather Round you do need 1 teacher's guide! It is a MUST! Other curriculum companies I can skate by without it. But...for GR, you NEED it!

Are there tests or recommended ways to see how much they are retaining?
I really like ths style of this curriculum, but would it work with those of us not wanting a religious curriculum? I don't have a problem with God mentioned, as I was raised Catholic but am not practicing, & while my kids wouldn't need to memorize the Bible verses, they can just be used as spelling & penmanship I guess?
I wish you would have spent more time on the language part of the unit. The light coverage of language arts in this curriculum is what is holding me back from using it with my middle schooler and high schooler.

Can you expand on how long each i it is meant to last? For example, it’s 20 lessons long so does that equal 20 days/4 weeks of school? I’m wanting to try it but just for the science end of things.
There are 20 lessons! You can do them however you want in your home!!!! For us, I usually opt to take approx 6 weeks/unit study! Personal preference! 🤗💞
I have two school age kids . Will this program be for a Sk student ?
Yes, I think this program works well for many families and all types of learning styles. I would definitely check out Rebecca Spooner's youtube channel and her Gather Round Facebook group for more encouragement! 💜🤗
Hi there! I am wondering about how your Teacher's Guide is bound. Did you print it and bind it yourself or is there a way to order it like that? I was under the impression I could only order it printed with a sprail binding. Thank you!

The books that are listed are they required to use the curriculum or could you use any books on the topics you choose
You can use absolutely ANY books you choose! These are simply mentioned to give you a reference if you need ideas! 😃💜

You can go either way! I typically order digital and print myself! 😊
What age is considered an early reader?

SIMPLY LIVING IT I think it will be my families favorite too! From what I’ve seen of it, it’s beautiful and has so much information!! I have heard that she was going to be releasing math. Do you happen to know when that might be? We use math lessons for a living education right now and we like it but it’s not a perfect fit.
I believe her math is coming out this fall! That's the last I heard, anyway! 😃
We are in the middle of Oceans and my kids love it. I just have to share that my little boy who is 5 with special needs did school today with his big sisters because the lady who works with my boys had a family emergency today. We were doing lesson 9 of GR oceans. He INSISTED I print him out a copy of the hurricane page so he could draw a hurricane like his sisters and then he insisted I print the art page so he could draw an angelfish with his sisters. I loved teaching all four of my kids together today with GR. :) It was such a precious time.
I am looking forward to hearing your plans for next year!! We will be doing Masterbooks for math, LA & history. I was going to do MB for science as well until my girls were appalled at that idea and insist we do GR for science. So GR human body it is. :)

Thanks for the encouragement, friend! As far as jumping around, the only place I have heard it matters is with the prereader. Otherwise, I have heard time and time again, be free! Lol! So. I'm being free, too! I have even contemplated doing 2 units at once!🙊 Like say...Human Body and North America???? However, I'm not that brave...YET! 😉😃 I don't want to rush through and have them miss the "guts." Plus...the memory verse would be hard. We shall see though! 😃🤗💞

Thank you for the flip through :) This is something I am thinking about when my girls are older. I am not thrilled that grammar concepts are covered in the early years in this program. I have a very Charlotte Mason approach to grammar and thus while my eldest daughter has heard the word "noun" and maybe knows the basics of what it is, she has not worked intensely with it and nor do I plan to till age 9 or 10. I want her reading skills to blossom and bloom before we start digging into the meat. But, otherwise I really like the look of this program :)

You converted me 😂 I had all our masterbooks for our next grade in the fall already but we took a break a month ago to try a gather round unit and loved it so much! Probably going to try and sell a lot of what I already bought to pay for more units and not even going to try and finish the rest of our books for this year! Thanks for sharing ❤️

@@SimplyLivingIt we finished up space and are using NAB with cousins as a sporatic co-op day when we get a chance. Doing the earth science freebie week this week and then starting north America next week 😁 my 9 year old son is crazy excited to try his hand at making the recipes. I might even let him hack at them himself to see how he does. I feel like he's already learning way more then he was with masterbooks as much as I love them. I love that you get to learn about something new everyday! Makes my ADD heart so happy 😂
