I once went to a concert of Heilung and was on mushrooms. That was the coolest and most formative experience in my life. With or without mushrooms, everyone who is into spiritual experiences should have seen this band live!
Oh, I saw them in concert last year, I was not high at all and I could not help but wonder what that would have been like, we walked out of the concert feeling like our minds were blown.
This one would be nice, as well: Heilung | LIFA - In Maidjan LIVE in which the female vocalist Maria Franz demonstrates an old herding call among other things
And next "In Maidjan" from the same show, you'll really get to hear some insane, yet hauntingly beautiful sounds from Maria, the witch-queen lady. Heilung is of Nordic-German origins (Norway, Denmark, Germany) and derives inspiration on the runic writings from Iron Age to Viking era. Heilung is German which means "Healing" in English. The band actually performs a healing ritual on the stage, its not "just" a concert. They are neo-pagans.
please do more Heilung. You should check out "Norupo", "In Maidjan", "Hamer Hippye" and "Fylgija Ear". Some background information: Heilung is german and means healing or cure. They are from Denmark, Germany and the Norway. They sing in "Old Nors", "runic", althochdeutsch ("old high German"), German, English and "old english"
Heilung is a spiritual experience for a lot of people. Please try their songs In Maidjan and Hamrer Hippyer! Both are extremely intense in their own way. I really appreciate your respectful nature with this react as well. Unfortunately many laugh at this or brush it off as nonsense but you can see how important this is to both the artists and also the fans. Thank you!
Their live shows are amazing. They refer to them as 'rituals' and treat each show as such. They start with a cleansing ceremony, and engage the audience to participate in a chant, bringing each member together as one whole. It's amazing and an otherworldly experience.
I have seen Heilung live twice. It is definitly an experience on a different level. They usually dont interact with the audience so you can just immerse yourself into the music. It feels more like you are part of a ceremony than a concert, you might even fall into a trancelike state if your not careful 😉. My favourite songs in these live performances were Hamrer Hippyer, Alfadhirhaiti, Traust and Galgaldr. Oh and there are actually a lot bands like that over in Europe. Others would e.g Nyttland or Wardruna, the latter even whad a view songs to the tv series Vikings. Helvegen is the most known. Anyway stay healthy and wish you lots of fun during your reactions 🤘🏻

Suzy Q this is very different and I LOVE it. Good job Shem. You may find it interesting that they make their own instruments and clothing. And their sound is very special. It is deep. For what it is worth, I have read that they have been to the states. I too would love to experience this. It might be overwhelming, maybe!!!!???? WELL???? Yes it was cool!!!!
Maria is playing human forearm bones here. They have some trouble going through customs all the time lol! The shield that one guy is playing has a design on it. The design is painted on using the blood of the three main members of the band.

They are amazing to see live. I saw them in Silver Springs, Maryland when they did their first North American tour last year. Not a concert, it's more of a spiritual experience when you're immersed in the moment.

If you haven't checked out Alfadhirhaiti yet, do - in that one they're chanting out basically all the names of the Allfather Odin, also he name of his horse (Loki's son as a result of the time he turned himself into a mare - long story), his spear and his ring (forged by the dwarves at Loki's request).
I am glad that you give this extremely exceptional Nordic group a chance. I tell you a little about its history. The group, which are two boys and one girl, have Norwegian, Danish and German nationality and uses instruments such as horns of different animals, drums, human bones, rattles with human ashes, bells, stones, all to go back to the first musical compositions that They were able to interpret 10,000 years ago, in the iron age in northern Europe. All the letters are taken from carved gadgets from the era of the Nordic iron, such as arrowheads, bows, swords, rune stones and recite poems and psalms of war, peace and protection. Whereupon and for this, heilung, which means healing in German, is in close collaboration with archaeologists specializing in the field. The languages used by heilung are several. Among them are Latin, Old Danish, German and English. They were so successful with their first album that they had to release a new live album, which includes 2 new songs. Also a video of that album live and this year they released their second work, futha, which is a much more feminine work. His first album, Ofnir, is much more aggressive and masculine. During the concerts some representations of how these ancient rituals of the iron age could be made. Also just finished the soundtrack of the video game Hellblade 2. ancient music is similar all over the world. Just as we humans are similar in this world. But I love the Germanic, Scandinavian and Gaelic music of that time the most.
They re-create bronze-age music based on evidence from archaeological digs. They play bones, animal-hide drums, gongs, and modern instruments. They sing in Proto-Germanic (reconstructed language extrapolating from Old Norse, modern German, etc.), as well as English, Old Norse etc. The title of this song “Krigsgaldr” means “War Spell”; the song is meant to protect their village from approaching invaders.

No one fully understands it, but there are descriptions of the stone’s preparation, various grave rituals, and a shipwreck. Doesn’t have anything to do with protecting a village.

And wants to have a hundred sisters In the coldest state of their existence
They may dance the maddest In the morass of the red rain
Beloved brother enemy I sing my sword song for you
The lullaby of obliteration So I can wake up with a smile
And bliss in my heart And bliss in my heart And bliss in my heart
Coexistence, Conflict, combat Devastation, regeneration, transformation
That is the best I can do for you I see a grey gloom on the horizon
That promises a powerful sun to rise To melt away all moons
It will make the old fires of purification (of purification)
Look like dying embers (x10)
Min warb naseu (we where near the waterline)
Wilr made thaim (doing the laundry)
I bormotha hauni (I was disturbed by a howling)
Hu war (hu war) (who was it)
Hu war opkam har a hit lot (who was it that has come upon to our lands)
Got nafiskr orf (got masks on)
Auim suimade (making havoc)
Foki afa galande (people all panic)
(all who have ears! Listen to this!) (x10)
