Very good job on the video. It took me a long time to figure Codie out. For me Codie is all about your curve. When you built Codie in a specific way, you almost always know which kind of effect you can expect from the top of your library. 1 and 2 Mana is spot removal (except your specific strategy), 3 and four Mana in my version is card draw or card selection (mostly on commands or charms to be very interactiv and always have the answer) and 5 mana and above is flashy stuff like brass bounty, boardwipes, mizzix's mastery, Approach, True Polymorph, Expansion/Explosion and Titanias Command.
I really see the value and fun in those 0 Mana spells mentioned, but sadly they are all sorcery speed. For them to work in the right way you completely limit yourself to said speed.
When I started brewing codie I had cards like Open the Gates in my deck and often faced the situation not being able to cast this 1 Mana spell due to its speed. That sucked.
Now my deck starts with sorceries only in the 4 Mana and up slots, so I won't take myself out of the game.
The most important ingredients in Codie are in my oppinion modular cards like Confounding Riddle. You got a good counterspell or card selection. With Codie in the Commandzone I never find myself screwed.
One interesting thing to keep in mind for Codie are Split cards. For those cards the combined mana value of both spells counts for Codie so when you flip for example Expansion/Explosion it counts as a 6 Mana spell and most of the time doesn't count as Codies target.
When you meet Codie and Zirda on Arena Brawl it is probably me. Peace out.

I bought the cards from your kicker version. I really like your out-of-the-box thinking when building decks! Thank you so much!

I made my Codie deck all about instants and sorceries that create different tokens. Each card has to create unique tokens

Orvar + Land Copy is so out there and the perfect mixture of stupidity and Jank. Plus profane tutor pretty much frees up 19 slots for the deck

I think there is way too little to none recursion for these hidden commanders. One Wipe or Spot-Removal and youre dead in the water, otherwise very cool Lists and Inspiriations - allthough the New Niv Mizzet Surpreme pretty much replaces the entire last list

I build a hive mind pacts combo variant of codie and I am really excited to ruin my friends days

Profane tutor replaces the green tutor now doesn’t it? Making all the secret commander decks dramatically more powerful since you don’t reveal them and you don’t lose 4 mana after just putting them in your hand. Of course you now run cards that put profane tutor back into your Library instead of your hand to recast.

Most definitely - I remember when profane tutor came out, and I was thinking that it kind of made a lot of my Codie combos in this video obsolete.
