sad loss for col. The interview was sadder. 18 months of this roster being together and hes talking about spacing issues and running out of ideas on ct sides and just being outgunned by Navi. Elige is a fantastic player whos being completely nullified by his subpar teammates. JT as an igl I think is really good he does good setups for his players all the time, but his players keep failing him over and over. Hallzerk especially, he misses every single 1st engagement he takes.
Exactly. Sure there are mistakes, but after working on them for 1.5 years already, it's not very likely that they'll get fixed with more time. Hallzerk looked good for a few months while playing for his contract, now he got it and is back to mediocrity and inconsistency. Grim and floppy are just lackluster riflers and you never know what you're gonna get from either of them. The most frustrating thing is how close they can get to winning top teams on their better days, but just can't close these games for whatever reason. They could have beaten Spirit, they could have pushed NaVi to at least the third map. But they just turn to a bunch of clowns in the most crucial rounds and moments. And these matches were after they lost to a coach stand-in.
i say just keep JT and Elige and scrap the rest. Problem is that the NA player pool has been in shambles for the past 4-5 years. However, that is the NA orgs fault, they rarely ever take a risk when it comes to bringing in new, young talent. Instead, they keep the same old recycled ass names and that is why EU counterstrike is on top. You look at teams like Navi, Mouz, Australis, Spirit, etc and they all have academy teams and take risks with younger guys when the main roster is just not working out, this leads to way higher completion and better players in the EU CS2 scene.
Both teams sucked on the first one. Navi somehow won Anubis when they completely gave up mid control late game and started getting crunched left and right on both sites on CT. Col somehow lost to that. Nuke seems more like the solid map control Navi exerts. Then again for yesterday’s nuke, they got map control, lost it and allowed liquid to retake those locations, decide to fall back or leave the bomb behind, fail to check those regions and keep on getting caught. Lost 3 or 4 points this way. One glaring issue: wonderful seems to falter under pressure quite a bit. If they’re steamrolling he’s fine but as soon as the scores get to those OT levels, he turns into Draken almost. Noticed this against liquid and today again.

It's forgiving to ensure that partner teams go through. At the same time it would be pretty dumb to eliminate someone for just losing to the same team twice. All around a ridiculous format with guaranteed re-matches in every group and no real elimination games (since you still have a chance to get to the Final through the showdown).

Elige is my fav player…I feel so bad for him. Must be soooo frustrating to be in a team where you have to basically carry every map to win. I would be fine if COL cut basically everyone other than Elige and rebuild.
For those who complain about the format: This format is good. Spirit played against Complexity and won 2:1 by maps. If NaVi had played against Complexity in the group stage, they would likely have advanced on the first try. Also, if Spirit had played against Liquid, they would have had a 90% chance of losing.
