Good to see you taking care of your equipment. Better to do it know than waiting until you have a break down when your in the field and really need it.

Yep that's why we do it. We can't afford much down time in season.

Did you have to take the tire off to get that front shaft out or were you able to get it out underneath?

Im sitting under a 9770 right now and there is no way I can reach the bearings and gears on the rh side. How did you? Maybe I gotta find someone realy skinny or remove the trans.

I put antiseze on everything before I put it back together. Its not like its going to hurt anything you put it on and it makes life so much easier the next time it has to come apart

On a cold day you really need to take time out and practice using a torch ! You could have had the entire thing apart in maybe....5 min. ? If you would have heated .....everything including the roll pin......everything would have come apart so much easier ! But then some people are scared of using a touch or even a welder. My fear is......you wont have eyes very long if you keep up going with out protection ! Heat expands things releasing it and making things come apart so much easier. Even heat bolts before you start. No effort ! Your going to be replacing the bearings anyway....... cut them off with the touch !
Another thing.....never throw away old bearing races......inner or outer races. They come in handy for shims........and pounding to remove things on shaves. Unless you already have 4 or them the same size. But as tidy as your shops is....... Im sure everything hits the dumpster !

Where’s the eye protection with the torch??!! It’s only two per person.

I wondered if I would get called out on that.

You have to set an example. You never know when there may be millennials watching! 👀😆

I can tell you from experience when I was younger and never grew up around anyone to did any kind of maintenance or fabrication to learn how to do things the right way. I was cutting something and got hot metal on my eye that ended up sticky into my eye and started to rust immediately from me trying to wash out my eye. I ended up having to go to a eye doctor that had to use a dremel type tool to grind the metal of my eye a little bit at a time for 3 times a day for 4 days straight. Let me tell you it was more debilitating than I could ever think at the time and quite painful. I had to wear a eye patch 24/7 for 3 weeks and ever since then I wear some kind of eye protection for a lot more things than I even need to but I got lucky the first time and there's not going to be a 2nd time

The one I filmed was by far the hardest. The rest all came apart relatively easy.

A lose bearing would cause a squeak ..... And most likely it wont harm a thing to leave it as is. I had an old mixer mill........had it since 1967. One day I was grinding feed.....and the fly wheel began dancing around under the shroud....destroying it. The pillow bearing was never locked on from the factory. There was only a 1/2 inch remaining of a 2 1/2 inch shaft when it brock. Took 50 years of use to cut it off.
