Every time I see this I cry. On my son’s graduation after everyone got with family, there was a girl left standing all alone, it broke my heart. I walked up to her and asked her if I could hug her. I did and told her how proud I was of her. I wish I had kept in touch.

Though we broke up, my ex went in right after high school. When we went to the ceremony, I ran to him. His best friends wife was not able to attend, so I ran to him too. Though it's been years, I'll never forget the smile and tears, the way this guy thanked me over and over again for not letting him stand there. All of these men and women deserve love. ❤❤❤

The year was 1977 when I graduated from the Marines.
It was the highest high and the highest honor for me in my life.
Yes I felt alone and it hurt but looking back after all these years, I see where I did good and all the good things that happened to me.
As I was standing there I knew no one was coming and I’m okay with it because no one cared about me except me.
I’m greatful for the opportunity to have served my country and most of all greatful to God.

The condition of things in the world shows that troublous times are right upon us. The daily papers are full of indications of a terrible conflict in the near future. Bold robberies are of frequent occurrence. Strikes are common. Thefts and murders are committed on every hand. Men possessed of demons are taking the lives of men, women, and little children. Men have become infatuated with vice, and every species of evil prevails. 9T 11.3

I am a retired AF Officer. This is a cruel part of what should be a proud milepost in an Airman's transition to an AF career and leadership positions. If I were in charge of this ceremony, this BS "Tap-Out" would be banned. After so much work, some Airmen without significant others are suddenly alone. Terrible leadership! There are other, much better ways to conclude this graduation ceremony. Under these protocols, however, I would walk up to each orphan, put him/her at ease, look each straight in the eye, and welcome him/her to a new "family" and an honorable AF life - with a handshake & a hearty hug. These are MY people!

Keeping your nation safe!? How? by blowing up, murdering, destroying cities in other countries which has nothing to do with them. The reason the West get attacked by the East is the retaliation of the East wanting you to get the fuck out of their country. There is no war, call it what it is...Business. These soldiers are the receptionists of the army. They take all the shit whilst being on minimum everything whilst the big wigs sit comfortably and safetly whilst watching their bank accounts grow. I really can't believe that grown adults really believe in the Army, Military, Police, CIA, FBI. Its ALL BULLSHIT!!!!

    • @juliebak5054
      @juliebak5054 2 дні тому

@Kokolamar Now it's voluntary, but it wasn't during the Vietnam Crisis.
My husband enlisted in the USAir Force in 1965 before he would have been drafted into the Army. He served four years working as an aircraft electrician on B52's, which are huge 6 engine bombers that bombed the North Vietnamese, who are Communists. I thank God, my late husband never had to fly over or serve on the ground in Vietnam. He
serviced those planes in the US & on Guam.😊One of my brother-in-laws served in the Army as a medic. He rescued soldiers from the battle fields with horrendous injuries. Many didn't survive or were left with severe handicaps from lost limbs, blinded, burned, disfigured, hearing losses, Agent Orange poisoning & PTSD. My bil is still being treated for PTSD by the VA from the horrors he experienced in Vietnam in the 1960's!! He was drafted! He didn't volunteer. Most of the young soldiers were drafted when they graduated from high school. Tens of thousands of their names are engraved on The Wall in Washington DC & buried at Arlington Cemetary in Arlington, VA. So many became addicted to cigarettes,
alcohol & drugs to cope with the stress & horrors of that conflict. Then the US lost that conflict to the Communist Vietnamese!
To add insult to injury, the soldiers, sailors, marines
& airmen were greeted with distain from US citizens! There were no parades or recognition
for their service, injuries sacrifices or deaths. There were anti-war demonstrations instead!
I witnessed them on the Boston Common when I was going to Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing. Our freshman dorm was in the old Lincolnshire Hotel just steps from the Common.
      War is Hell. 😢
Now we must fight terrorists that have invaded our country & our allies' countries. They teach their children in preschool to hate anyone, who isn't Muslim!! They are taught that if they die as martyr, they will be given 72 virgins in the after life!! Their families are given money for each infidel they kill, so their parents encourage their sons & daughters to kill
      Anyone, who is not Muslim

A lovely tradition. And we need get creative.
Those not expecting to be tapped out could quietly make that known beforehand and, instead, receive a visit / be tapped out by, for example, a young student of a nearby school.
      Ergo, no graduate left behind!

There are more & more women serving in the military. Many are moms, too & leaving their children with fathers, grandparents or other relatives. That would break my heart to have to leave my children to serve in the military. My dad served 26 years in the Army Air Corp from 1940-1946. Then in the USAir Force from 1947-1967. He had to leave my mom & me when I was an infant to go to Newfoundland, Canada for one year. Then he had to serve in Labrado, Canada from 1965-1966 without the five of us. It's not easy moving every 2-3 years, either. Fortunately, I learned from my mom to write cards & letters to my family & friends as we couldn't afford to phone them.
It's much easier to communicate between service members & their loved ones & their families with computers, laptops & cell phones.

However it saddens me to the ones that don’t have family there for them. I’d be hugging all the graduates that didn’t have family just so they could feel loved and appreciated and so they could leave their post!❤
