Upper Red Lake early ice (Catch and Cook)

- I wasn't planning on filming this video but i had everything to do so. We also were catching fish so i figured it would kind of be a fun video to do before leaving red. Early ice was better this year then in years past. I ended my few days at red with 37 fish. I was happy to go home with my limit and even more happy to see most of our fish go back.

If you catch and cook your walleye. Does that count as your limit ? I see so many walleye carcass on red lake and people still fishing
Been here a few times early ice, here now waiting for daylight. Never seen that but has to be people doing the wrong thing
Yes, they do count towards your daily limit. I should have explained this in the video and we as a group cleaned a few from each others shacks so we could stay in limit. But, you can only clean them if your oil is hot basically meaning if ur going to eat them immediately. If not you have to wait to be on shore to clean them. Also you cannot get rid of ur carcas because they have to be able to measure your fish to be able to tell that you are in fact under your legal limit for the day. This day was my last day and I wanted to take home a legal limit so a few buddys offered up a fish so we could do a little cook. Super awesome!
