Well done, Chris. I love the Brave Star jean brand. Their quality is on par with just about any brand of selvedge out there, but much less expensive than many of the Japanese brands. Plus, they are designed, made and sold in the good old USA!
Thank you Mark! I'm considering putting some time with this selvedge as the weather have gotten a little cooler here. May a round the island trip with the bike. Aloha!
Cool Vid. I’m lovin’ my 21.5s. I’m from Wisconsin, so it’s a bit easier to wear them here until about April-ish. As for cigars-have you tried La Gloria Cubana? I recommend all of their cigars, but the Estelí and the Serie R are really nice smokes. Keep pumping’ out the vids. They’re very enjoyable!!
Chris, I'm glad you made the commitment to wear these more. If you want the fades, you have to earn them, plain and simple. I understand you live in a paradise-like climate. But! So many of those instagram fades are posted by guys overseas in places like Indonesia. They're wearing them day in and day out in the same weather to break in those pants to great effect. You can do it too. I'm into my 3rd month of daily wears of my BS 21.5s. This is my third piece with this denim; it creases and fades really fast. It's tough material - in a year you won't be disappointed! Mine already have some decent fades beginning. They were made for men. Wear them as a mark of pride.
I love what you said that we only need 1 or 2 selvedge denim and wear it for a long time. Guess what, I've got 3 selvedge denim now, 2 premium 501 original (raw/STF & washed) after watching your vlog about the 501 and heritage clothing. 🤣🤣🤣
Trying to make a choice between the main selvedge jeans brands(I live in Spain and the price of some ones is crazy after delivery and import taxes),I think Brave Star is a reasonable option for a rookie like me. By the way,I am watching your video and at the same time,I´m smoking a Vega Fina cigar(Nicaragua).Aloha and Salud!!
Delicious choice of cigars brother! You can’t go wrong with BS in my opinion. Living in Hawaii have some drawbacks like shipping cost but not as bad if you live in Spain I guess. I love Spain by the way! Salud!
So I’m a 32 in Levi’s jeans. In your experience, do I size up to a 33 for a Brave Star or stick with 32? I ask because I bought a brand new Gustin off of eBay in 32 and it’s quite tight. Some sites say buy a size up. And then other sites say, buy the size you always get. I’m confused. I ordered a 32 from Brave Star but I may be able to catch them before they hem and mail it out.
I'm a 34 in Levi's (actual measurements also) and I was told to order the 21.5 BS in size 32. I did this before and the break-in was agonizing and I'm not about to go through that again. The idea behind it is that it will stretch out the waist and some of my friends claimed that it stretched out up to two inches! I ordered my size because I want to be comfortable on the get go and I will just deal with whatever stretch comes in the future with tightening up my belt or having a tailor take the jeans in the waist area. This is my view on sizing when it comes to 21.5 oz BS. Please read up on it on their website (or whatever brand it is) because there are other factors that affect sizing such as sanforized, pre-washed, unsanforized, pre-shrunk etc,,, Sorry for the confusion but I hope my explanation above helps you decide on the direction of your purchase.
I ordered a pair of the 21.5s last month in my “Levi” size (36). When I first tried them on, they seemed big. I wore them for a couple days like that, then soaked them in a little bit hotter than warm water and hung them dry. They shrunk a bit, but now they fit pretty well. I with Chris on the break in process, I’ll order up to a 14oz a size smaller to compensate for the stretch, but you would have to be a warrior to do that with a pair of 21.5s. I probably have 15 wears on to mine, and they are pretty comfy. Good luck
Old video, but were still watching. Thanks for the style inspiration!

It's my first time hearing about this kind of jeans, it looks vintage and ever lasting,as always-Thank you for sharing
There are other selvedge versions around the world as well. I feel that most are based on the Levi’s 501 LVC.
Hey Chris, great upload thanks so much, from Melbourne Australia.
Hey thanks Grant! Aloha!
Good to see you this morning my friend! I'll go for a ride with you any time! I'm ADD enough to follow down any subject(s)!
Thanks brother and Aloha!
Excellent extended look at these jeans, Thx!
🤙
Enjoyed the additional details about Brave Star denim and their fades!
Thanks Kevin! It’s always good to listen to my viewers you know.
I hope I can be as good looking, classy, and stylish as this dude when I get older.
Just purchased a 21.5 gauntlet pair. Looking forward to getting them.
Great choice and congrats!
Interesting, nice vibe. Thx!

Thank you very much! Wisconsin is perfect for HD denim during winter for sure!
I have a lot of high end selvedge denim, and I actually like Brave Star quite a bit. They offer some of the best value in the business.
Thanks for confirming my point Justin. BS does it right for me too!

I’m definitely inspired by your thoughts and actions Aaron. Yes! I’m definitely considering a marathon wear.
I just did my first soak on my 21.5's and i can't wait to get the 25oz. Sumo IV's...
That one is a beast but worth it in my opinion!

Oh man, great buy! I love my 501s for sure. I’m beating up one right now working in the garage. Maybe time for a new STF! Thanks! 😉

@@StylishGreaseMonkey Good looking.

@@StylishGreaseMonkey Thank you sir. It helps a lot. I’m in my mid 50s and I also don’t want to be too uncomfortable right off the bat.

@@hansolo3433 Thank you much for that. These are the real world experiences that I need to be informed about before I purchase a pair.
