  • Living in San Jose Del Cabo has been one of the best things I've done in the last year. While it may not be my permanent home, there is a lot that I love about this little slice of paradise in Baja California Sur.

Me and my boyfriend are moving to San Jose Del Cabo June 1st! I quit my 9-5 job and we’re just going for it. I’m from Norway and he is from California! I've been watching your videos for a while now and I am so excited to experience and explore this beautiful place and learn all about the culture!❤️

I was born in jalisco.. raised in the states. Parents took us back for summer as children and it stopped. Mom was arizonian.. I traveled there again as a 28 year old, after that marriage and raised children plus career.. now in my 60s I love hanging out in Mexico being retired. But on the other hand, I breakdown my travels to include Europe..I'll stay for a month or so and move on to another country.. love Malaga , Belgium, Middle East and so on... but thats me.. can't stay anywhere for long other than the states.

Thanks for your post, I really appreciate your comments but I’m a little bit concerned about the South Florida type climate there. Here in Southwest, (Arizona) you’re pretty much held hostage and confined to the AC six months out of every year because of the stifling dry heat but then you add humidity and I am uncertain if it would work for me there?

Your videos have helped me decide between La Paz and San Jose del Cabo and SJC won! I've subscribed to the SC Newsletter and I've learned much about the local housing market and environmental issues, but to hear a non native speak so highly of where they are currently living means a lot as someone who has traveled the world you've described the exact sense of community I'm seeking. Yes it is unreasonable to expect any one and/or any place to be perfect, but one can hope for 7 out of 10.

There are a few vegan specific restaurants (mi vegan favorito in town and CHULA vegan café closer to the hotel zone are both popular). There are a decent amount of vegetarian dishes on menus in most restaurants that I assume could easily be turned into vegan dishes if ask for with cheese.

@@Brockdorf no doubt resource nationalism and poor planning has led Mexico to not deal with their energy well. They became “fat & happy” living off the Cantarell field in the Gulf ( a find of luck) and have not done a good job of investing in future development. That’s not to say that one day when push comes to shove they won’t. You can look at a map of fracking in the US and watch it literally end at the Mexican border. At some point instead of depending on their own PeMex, the gov will be forced to hire frackers on contract. They’ll have the energy for the foreseeable future when this occurs.
As to Venezuelan policies, we got not only a look at how socialism can destroy a competitive advantage, but also how the US can add to that misery at will. Do keep in mind that their form of oil is a heavy sour crude, not easily as refined in a world set up for light sweet crude. Nonetheless there is a good market for it.
