You can extend DTV after 180 days for another 180 days, Then you must leave Thailand, once you return your 180 days starts again. Just got approved for DTV and thats what Thai Embassy has sent me with my approval.
So from my perspective the only thing that's a pain in the butt with this Visa is the Border run requirement after 180 days. The rest of it sounds wonderful I don't know why they had to throw in that glitch but I suppose they had a reason
You can pay 1900 baht to extend it for another 180 days without the need to do a border run. Just a bit of money and a 30 minutes on the immigration office.
I am borned in november 1980 and is turning 45 next year, so i am thinking about applying for this visa as a bridge until i turn 50 years old, and can flip over to a Non-O retirement visa. So i hope that you can live in Thailand on a DTV-Visa evendough i will have to file tax returns for the money i bring into Thailand. So i Hope that it will be okay for mee to doo that 🙏

Nice! Did they check If your contract includes you Being allowed to Work Outside of your country?
Did you have to submit the whole contract?
As soon as you return after 6 months you will classified as a thai tax resident
Thanks for bringing that up Benj as you normally bring out intel only from the perspective of the folks from the US
Thanks for the update. I’ll stay tuned as I plan to apply for one in 2 years. Hoping the details are worked out by then.
