Privatisation has been a bit of a double edged sword for me - sure it brought much needed investment and new trains/ locos, but like you, I’m still nostalgic for the corporate identity, ease of ticketing and the British built trains. 👍
Thanks. I’m so pleased with the reaction they have brought from viewers. Thank goodness for todays technology allowing me to share, rather than the tapes sitting in a cupboard in our spare room! It’s been so worthwhile 👍😊😊
Miss these times before privatisation,Amazing British made trains to remember ❤Was only a teenager of 14 going 15 in 1988 what a year ❤

Choppers shunting. Pure gold 🪙 driver on the light move just let straight air kff and opened the handle full out 👍
Love that creepy sound of a departing 86.
That was fantastic! So much quality traction there.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. 👍😊
That's another great film, thanks for sharing all of these!

I did wonder what they used the old stub of the Newport line for, then i saw that the pair of 20's left their MGR rake there!
My grandparents lived opposite the old Stub to Shrewsbury, on the other side of the WCML, sometimes the rakes of MGR wagons would be there for days.
Rugby then was much more atmospheric than the current sterile station.
Not been for many years, looks like I stand to be disappointed next time I go. ☹️. Thanks for watching. 👍
Great yr for bashing 1988
