The combined level of anger, power, harshness and aggressiveness plus beauty (achieved by it's melodies) makes this album so unique. It was my first Hypocrisy album and always wished Peter would write more albums in this Catch22 style.

Funny how the most beautiful moment on the album is a narrow 30 seconds in the middle of the song called "Hatred."
Catch-22 is easily the best record they ever recorded.

The production is perfectly aggressive, strong songs with a good amount of experimentation. And you gotta love that ringy snare! Classic!

I love how raw the bass is in Turn the Page, one of the best tracks for me in this masterpiece.
What about the rare distorted bass on "Edge Of Madness?"

This album is a genius and shows the desire of the band to explore other sonic planes. I remember at the time when it came out and it was harshly criticized by some "specialists" who said that this particular album sounded like Slipknot WTF the comparison is ridiculous. Hypocrisy it's on another level.
Ikr hypocrisy is all about the facts way way way better metal imo
The crunches resonate a frequency that I can understand and cause my emotions to harden off fast
And slipknot is about what can we do we just old school and love women 😂 im no longer mulling on hypocrisy lyrics like i did throughout my life
Please consider selling digital versions of your music. I would kill for FLAC digi versions that I could buy from the official Hypocrisy store.

Easily one of the greatest metal albums I've ever heard along side with Death's "Individual Thought Patterns."

never understood why the 'fans' asked for a 2nd version of this album, with a more 'hypocrisy' like voice...
this 1st version was fantastic when i had bought th album day1, and still is.
WAYS better than the 2nd version, in my opinion.

My least favourite Hypo album by a long way, I remember being pretty disappointed with it when it came out. Even the remix didn't save it. Its just too "nu" for me. Good tour for it with Immortal though! Saw them in LA2 on that tour.
