Iso - same
Tropic- turn (like turn around a sphere, ex: tropic of cancer and Capricorn) which implies an change in term of direction.
Combine both words.
Iso + tropic
Which implies that no matter from which angle we measure the physical properties remain same.
Which is obvious it has only one type of filament, so obviously no change in physical properties..
Anisotropic literally means
An- No, absent
No isotropic,bcoz it has 2 different types of protein filaments with entirely different sequence of amino acids and so the physical properties changes when we measure in different angles..
So light band - Isotropic band
Dark band - Anisotropic band
