Mari is an amazing vocalist and guitarist, Yayoi SHREDSSSS and does high kicks on stage, and Maiko picked up all their songs in the blink of an eye when she joined (months before a US tour!). We're all gonna miss Maiko so much 😭. And their original drummer Mizue is a LEGEND. It would be so cool to see them tour with another Japanese band, they perform with stellar bands constantly. Please give their body of work a listen if you're new!! Sex On The Beach and their self titled album is a gift to the world.

This band has done so much for so long, and created a gigantic and diverse archive of amazing material that is really historic, in my opinion. If you add an understanding of Japanese lyrics to the music and the stage presence, I think you would have to call them geniuses. Once again, thanks for helping to get the word out.

My band opened for them a number of years ago and I was enamored with Yayoi’s bass playing. She was kind enough to show me her gear and that helped me become a way better bass player. Thank you!! You 🪨

Saw them in 2006, have been a fan ever since. Been to many shows. Always a great time. Mari is a very underrated song writer.
The first song features a great pun: "shoyu" is Japanese for "soy sauce"
