    Today we review the Area 419 hellfire muzzle device. The area 419 hellfire muzzle device is extremely popular and it has gained its notoriety for good reason.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
    When I first took out the tikka I met a friend and he told me almost immediately that I needed to upgrade my VG6 lambda PRS65 to the Area 419 Hellfire. He told me the recoil impulse was just so much better.
    So I wanted to see if he was right! But I didn't want to just TELL you how it feels I wanted to try to get some qualitative data on the recoil impulse. So we used the Mantis X10 elite recoilmeter feature to record the recoil of the Tikka T3X tac a1 with the different muzzle devices.
    We started the testing with the VG6 lambda PRS65 and made 5 shots and recorded the recoil path and impulse. The VG6 lambda PRS65 was extremely consistent in the recoil path and the information recorded on the Mantis X10 elite readers were very similar from shot to shot.
    Next we shot with no muzzle device and recorded the results. Surprisingly, the recoil impulse was the lowest but the impact on the shooter was MUCH higher. I didn't realize how much the VG6 lambda PRS65 reduced the felt recoil of the gun. It was beyond significant. The accuracy of the groups started to suffer because I started to try to anticipate the gun going off. I'm sure I could train this out but doing just a 5 shot group...I shot terribly.
    Finally we shot the Area 419 hellfire and holy moley is it fantastic. While the recoil impulse was fantastic, the Mantis X10 elite had some very inconsistent readings and my groups were absolutely horrible. I assumed I was still anticipating shots and figured I'd try again in a few days.
    I came back and made the same test and had much more consistent results but the Mantix x10 elite readings on the recoilmeter weren't as similar from shot to shot as the VG6 lambda PRS65. But what was interesting is the accuracy was much higher. This kind of threw my idea of the value of the recoil path to the wind. The Area 419 hellfire muzzle device was the LEAST consistent while also being the MOST accurate.
    So we than ran the videos of the shots side by side so that you can see the recoil impulse of each of the muzzle devices. Now you can see the impact and response from the VG6 lambda PRS65, no muzzle devices, and the Area 419 Hellfire.
    I think the VG6 lambda PRS65 is a fantastic choice and you can often times find them on sale for a steal of a deal. I will say that I think it's worth it to save just a bit to get the Area 419 hellfire. The ease of install and tool-less removal is absolutely fantastic.
    Hopefully this video has helped you determine which muzzle device fits your needs best.

    Great review. The only review that compared the 2 muzzle breaks I’m debating on purchasing

      Haha I was mad no else compared them for me either. The vg6 is good but the hellfire is just a nice healthy bump.
      I like how the hellfire is tool-less to remove too. The vg6 is easy but it just adds another level of simplicity.
      Thanks for the kind words and let me know which one you end up with!

      @@ThinLineDefenseCo will do I have been looking at several different ones with the 419 included and I haven't seen a bad review yet. The one I currently have, don't keep me on target. I have a Griffin can I wish they made a adapter for that, but it looks like they don't. For long range I prefer just a break anyway.

      @ThinLineDefenseCo  3 роки тому +1

      @@1clnsdime1 ohh I was considering the Griffin myself. I hear you on cans though. I don't understand why I need it. It's not like it makes it silent in any way and has a noticeable effect on velocity.
      You can't go wrong with the 419. It's pretty much the standard already with competition shooters.

      I think he meant to use the expression, “spoiler alert.” In contrast the phrase, “Full disclosure…” should be used to preface an actual disclosure such as when it is required by conflict of interest rules. For instance, “full disclosure, area 419 sent me one to test out for free.”

    Nope! There's definitely much better brakes on the market than these. I would consider these average at best. The best I've found is Precision Armament's M4-72 with a 77% reduction in recoil and their Hypertap at 84% reduction. SJC's Titan brake falls somewhere in between these two at around 80% reduction.

    • @ThinLineDefenseCo

    • @Theyoufeelme

      They now have a titan extreme which is great. There are multiple new muzzle brakes that are on top like the Apollo s ultradyne and the nero 556 break. The m472 is obsolete. Hadn't tried the hypertap yet.

    • @79brumley
      @79brumley 2 роки тому

      It doesn't offer anywhere near 77% reduction in recoil! The most I've tested was around 43%. Only thing the precision armaments brakes offer over the hellfire is more muzzle blast and muzzle flash!
