2022 Kai Wa'a Gorge Recap

The Gorge Downwind Champs for us has always been much more than just a race. It’s our favorite part of summer as we get to spend some quality time with our Kai Wa’a family and visit with the paddling community from near and far.
We love getting our team riders together and spending time not just paddling but visiting the ❄️ , eating ice cream 🍦 , adventuring up the river to find runs, visiting the breweries 🍻 , doing the swell city merry-go-round and of course eating pizza 🍕 at Backwoods 5 nights a week.
This past year we were excited to have Kevin Jerusalemy 🦅 make the trip from Tahiti 🇵🇫 to come out for the first time to see snow and compete, we were also super stoked to spend time with the Big Island Jr. Va'a 💪🏽 and have Uncle Charlie teach us how to do some team cooking 🔥
