I remember going to this match. I always tell people I saw George Best's last goal at Old Trafford. Sir Bobby Charlton was supposed to play but his plane was held up in Munich,of all places. After the game I walked back to Chorlton Street to get my bus and a stray dog followed me all the way. I got on the bus without him. I can still see the sad look in his eyes when we pulled off. I still wonder what happened to him.
That’s were Bobby was then, been wondering about his absence. That’s a good walk into town (about 4 mile), no wonder the dog was disappointed you left him behind!
