I would choose MakiHonoRin, they sounds great. Still, love the official sub-units. Anyway, I don't really listen to sub-units songs, so I'm pretty shocked why Printempes sounds too cute XD.

Am I the only one who would want Eli, Maki, and Hanayo to sing anything together? Maybe not as a subunit, but in any song? They’re my three favorites and there isn’t a single song that has any part with just them 3 singing together.
rin and umi would sound good together and no one can change my mind but I really wish they would've given µ's more duo songs and gave A rise more songs

Rin sounds sooo well in any sub-unit! But lily white are perfect, I wouldn't change them for anything.

My alternate sub units would be:
Genki group: honoka, nico, kotori
Pure group: Umi, hanayo, rin
Edgy group: eli, maki, nozomi
I think I like option 5 the best. Those dynamics would have been interesting to see.
