My generation had the best of everything. I'm 65 and love music still. We had it all.
So glad I grew up in the 70's to have been exposed to so much great music, all genres of music from Rock to Disco.
In my opinion it's the greatest decade of music.
Me and you both.
@@carolbrown605 YES!!!!
@@carolbrown605 ABSOLUTELY!!! 💯💯
Yes! I am in my sixties and I know that I was also 😇 blessed as well. What brings me joy is watching the reaction videos of these great songs and seeing the young people respond to them! The joy is infectious! We have to keep the old school music alive! What else is out there to listen to?
That Carwash soundtrack was iconic. Almost every song was a major hit.
Right 👍

One of the most "UNDERATED & UNDERAPPRECIATED" tracks ever!!!! Instant Classic sampled by a dozen or more 1990s artists😮
Had me crying over here. Not abandoned; died. Gone nonetheless. 😭 While you're on Rose Royce, listen to "Wishing on a Star", "Angel in the Sky", "I Wanna Get Next to You" and "Do Your Dance". 💛
I knew once you heard this and "Car Wash", you'd be hooked! if you listen to "Do Your Dance" make sure you play the LONG version or you won't really be to appreciate the genius behind the song!
@@ujimajame4601 #FACTS. 💛
Wishing on a star 🌟
Killa vocals
Wishing on a star!!
Not only was it sampled by many rappers , it was covered by Madonna in the 80’s, Old School never dies…..
Madonna over stepped her boundaries
Rose Royce is absolutely fantastic. Madonna did a beautiful cover and with a lot of respect for the original song. The clip is one-shot and interesting.
You know it’s great when artists have to sample it!
@Lovejazz01: British actor, Jimmy Nail also covered it in 1986. Seal also did a cover of it and their hit, Wishing Upon a Star for a covers album and its closer to this original one. I was 3 when this song came out.
That's right baby boy we did that in the 70s everyday all day
Back then we had musical groups and bands. Often musicians started groups and then added a lead singer. When you are able to find videos of old songs being performed you see musicians singing and playing the instruments. They were master musicians and the music itself was fire.
That saying "everything old is new again" is so very true. Especially in the music world.
I'm so HAPPY and BLESSED that I grew up when I did. The music back then had so much meaning and they could sing. We could go out at night and not worry about drive by and all this other mess that's going on now. That was a GREAT time to be a teenager.
You will ALWAYS have our music.
I love Rose Royce music ❤❤❤😊
everyone had their own sound back in the day, so you never had to worry about someone copying your sound. glad i was there to hear great music first hand. :)
Killa classic spine tingling
To grow up in the 60's with music, ALL MUSIC was truly amazing. Instruments were played by real people. Bands, whole orchestras. AWESOME ♥️
Faith Evans' version of this song featuring Mary J. Blige on Faith's first album was great also, unfortunately its hard to find. It may be here on youtube but iTunes doesnt have it 😫 they only have the one with Faith by herself from the album reissue. Faith singing it alone was hot but the one with her and Mary together was FIRE!
I agree!! That cover on Faith's album with MJB was everything!!!
And gangsta boo had a version too
I was born in the late fifties so thankful for the music we had to experience. Thank you for this.
Was born in the mid 50's. The Music 🎶 🎵 was Music Then.
👍🏽👍🏽
Satori .. that's Miss Gwen Dickey!!
70s SOUL CLASSIC ‼️
You are correct about the music from this era. TRULY something special. I SURE wish we could tap into that source today. 💛
Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak. r doing a pretty good job with it.
@@debratate2927 You are correct. 💛
You are doing great job, this the root of our music the last two generations traded their souls for fools gold and now your kids are suffering (society ran the back door play on y'all)
You are right...the frequency is different now.
She did the song in one take
There is nothing new under the sun. This is a super cold cut.
❤🔥💯❤ I'm not gone lie... your reaction to this classic hit was exactly what I hoped it would be!! I enjoyed watching your reaction, which made this classic song even better. Thank You for this one! My parents raised me up on this music and there is definitely nothing like it today. Yeah... they were tapped into nothing but pure brilliance when it came to music!!! 💯
I had the pleasure of seeing them in concert; it was Amazing.
One of the Greatest Songs!❤ This song will break your heart into pieces.
She was the group, you need to react to more Rose Royce
I agree, listen to wishing on a star. JayZ did a video with the singer rapping wishing on a star. Her voice is beautiful!
This is also one of the greatest groups of All-time!
Old school rules, they were so creative back then. Great singers, songwriters arrangers and producers...we had them all. What's missing in today's music is creativity and lack of good songwriters and arrangers.
By the way I love this channel and am crazy about the songs you review. Keep on keeping on!!
Satori My G you are on 🔥 tonight! Really enjoying your reactions to this beautiful classic music. And really appreciate your comments about the music from back in day. It truly was an amazing time for music and artists!
Forgot about this song, thanks for the walk on memory lane!! Definite cruising music
Don't forget Mary J. covered ," I'm going down" by Rolls Royce.
We don't show love like before. That's crazily amazing. Respect Rewind.
Dynasty! I just begun to love you... this song is nice! Also Laxx! You can have all my love!! Another nice cut!
Thank you so much for playing this, I asked for it ages ago and knew you'd get to it eventually. Such an awesome film Car Wash with some of the greatest songs ever made by Rose Royce. Takes me back to days when it was the music that counted not the colour of the artists, good days.👍💖
Without groups like RR there would be nothing to sample. This song is timeless..
Oh yesssss..... You hittin Satori!!!!
I only reccomend bangers 🔥🔥🔥👍🇬🇧
Bless your sweet heart, Satori! You FELT that!!! Yes, I was so blessed to grow up back in the day...music was literally my escape...LOVED your reaction...LOVE you too!❤

Marvin Gaye' After the Dance'or Fourplay and El Debarge, either one is perfection.
Crazy synths all through that album 🔥
I love when you recognize the beat, because another artist used there product
They were known for two soundtrack records 'Which Way Is Up' for the movie starring Richard Pryor and 'Car Wash' for another movie that co-starred Richard Pryor. The 70s were so much fun!!🤗🤗💃💃
Which way is up is hilarious 😂
70s - a forgotten era . I was born in 74 my first experiences with music were just insane.
Y'all generation kind of got robbed.
Love your heartfelt reactions ❣👌
Yes this is a nice throw back jam... the production is 🔥 ..👍🏻🤩

❤❤❤❤
You know you jammin MY_G
❤️
I know I'm late but when I was in school we had music class. Budget cuts took it away. I'm sure there would be less samples if kids were aloud to do music for themselves.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
